The One Ring, also known as the Master Ring, the Ring of Power, Isildur's Bane, and the Ruling Ring, was one of the most potent and perilous items ever made in Middle-earth in the Lord of the Rings universe.

It was created in the Second Age by the Dark Lord Sauron amid the flames of Orodruin, better known as Mount Doom. Celebrimbor and the Gwaith-i-Mrdain had created the other Rings of Strength with Sauron's assistance, but Sauron's goal was to increase his power and exert control over them. With this strategy, Sauron sought to rule the Elves and all other inhabitants of Middle-earth.

Origin and creation of the Ring

The Nineteen Great Rings and many additional Rings of Power were created by the Elves of Erebor, some of whom had Sauron's assistance. The One Ring, also known as the Ruling Ring, was secretly forged by Sauron amid the fires of Mount Doom.

It was created to be the Master Ring, the One Ring that would rule all other rings and conquer the wearer of them. Much of Sauron's will and might were channeled into it. He was, therefore, most powerful when he was wearing the ring, even though his strength did not decrease if he did not have it. He would no longer be able to take on a physical form if it were to be destroyed.

The ring appeared to be composed of gold, but it was actually almost unbreakable and could only be destroyed in the Orodruin fires, where it was first constructed.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is based on an epic fantasy novel created by the English author J.R.R. Tolkien. This book was written in stages between 1937 and 1949. It is one of the best-selling books ever, with over 150 million copies sold.

The Lord of the Rings is a story about a group of somewhat hesitant heroes who set out to defend their world against absolute evil. Its various regions and creatures were derived from Tolkien's broad philological and folkloric expertise.

What happens at the end of the Lord of the Rings trilogy?

The One Ring was finally destroyed when Gollum (Andy Serkis), who had earlier stolen it and engaged in battle with Frodo (Elijah Wood), fell into the boiling pits of Mount Doom. Sauron, who was unable to exist without the power of the One Ring, passed away as a result of the destruction of the Ring. When Mordor fell, the war was finally done.
