Stand-up comedian and actress Nikki Glaser hosted the 2025 Golden Globes Awards on January 5 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. During her inaugural monologue, she joked about Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Trigger warning: This article has references to r*pe, s*xual assault, and more. Discretion is advised.

“‘Challengers’ girl? Oh my God! It was so good! I mean that movie was more s*xually charged than Diddy’s credit card. I mean seriously,” Glaser said.

The 40-year-old continued:

“Oh, no, no. I am upset too. The afterparty isn’t gonna be as good this year! But we have to move on. ‘Stanley Tucci freak-off’ doesn’t have the same ring to it. But no baby oil this year. Lots of olive oil, okay?”

For those unversed, Diddy was arrested on September 16, 2024, on multiple federal felony charges including s*x trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

He has also been accused of having “freak-offs,” which were drug and s*x-fueled parties involving male prostitutes and underaged girls.

As for the “baby oil,” federal agents seized nearly 1000 bottles from Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami, which were raided as part of Homeland Security Investigations into human trafficking in March 2024. The baby oil was reportedly used as a “freak-off” supply.

Now, in the wake of Nikki Glaser’s Golden Globes joke about Diddy, the internet is having varied reactions, with most calling her out for joking about s*xual assault. Here are some of them from the social networking site, X.

“Wow, she didn't hold back!” a person wrote.
“Jokes about kids being victimized by their colleagues/ coworkers is probably in poor taste especially until the list is released. Just my opinion,” one person wrote.
“So gross. People were victimized at those parties,” wrote another.

Others continued to chime in holding Nikki Glaser in contempt.

“Last time I checked, r*pe and s*xual assault wasn’t a joking matter… But that’s just me,” a netizen wrote.
“Making jokes about children being victimized by these pos’s is terrible. Children were drugged and r*ped. Women and men were drugged and r*ped let’s not use it for laughs @NikkiGlaser,” another netizen wrote.
“I don't think kid r*pe is funny, call me old fashioned and close-minded I guess,” a user wrote.
“Diddy jokes… this is lowkey really distasteful to the victims,” wrote another.

Diddy is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting trial in May 2025. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including the ones in his several lawsuits.

More about Nikki Glaser’s Golden Globes monologue

On Sunday night, Nikki Glaser hosted this year’s Golden Globes where she joked about her industry colleagues. Apart from taking digs at Diddy, she also quipped about Zendaya and her 2024 romantic sports drama movie, Challengers. Notably, the film went on to win the Best Original Score award at the ceremony.

Nikki Glaser also mentioned actor Stanley Tucci while making the baby oil versus olive oil joke. It was a reference to his Italian food reality show, Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy. While Tucci was seen laughing in now-viral videos, he also appeared to be uncomfortable being mentioned in the same joke as Diddy.

She wrapped up her Diddy joke with a reminder. She went on record to say:

"I predict, five years from now when you're watching old clips of (this) show on YouTube, you'll see someone in one of the crowd shots, and you'll go, 'Oh my god, that was before they caught that guy.' We could be making history tonight, and, like, we don't even know with who."

Elsewhere, the host called the 2025 Golden Globes Awards, “Ozempic’s biggest night,” sidestepped joking about the Blake Lively versus Justin Baldoni drama, and mentioned the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

"I am not here to roast you tonight. I want you to know that. And how could I, really? You're all so famous, so talented, so powerful. I mean, you could really do anything, except tell the country who to vote for. But it's OK, you'll get 'em next time ― if there is one." Nikki quipped.

Nikki Glaser joked about Ariana Grande who held co-star Cynthia Erivo’s finger to try and comfort her during the press tour of Wicked, saying, "I'm scared. Ariana, hold my finger."

The Blind Date host also name-dropped Glen Powell and joked about how he was in everything in 2024, staring from Twisters and Hit Man to her “head when I’m having s*x with my boyfriend.”

As Powell laughed, Nikki Glaser added, “Thank you so much for the assist, I’ll see you tonight!”

She also made political jokes such as saying that The Bear, The Penguin, and Baby Reindeer were “not just things found in RFK Jr.’s freezer” but also “TV shows nominated tonight.”

Nikki Glaser made fun of Timothee Chalamet’s moustache, calling it, "the most gorgeous eyelashes on your upper lip." The Dune star appeared to appreciate the joke alongside his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.

Nikki Glaser expressed doubt about her Diddy joke during a club performance ahead of the 82nd annual Golden Globes. There, she told the audience, "You promise you will still be hollering on your couch when it dies in the room? I don't think you will," after being requested to keep it in her monologue.

She also told The New York Times that it was "almost more important" that the jokes in her monologue land for the people in the room than audiences at home, explaining she wasn’t “savvy enough to watch a joke that bombs on TV and still go: That's still a good joke.”
