"Star Wars: Rebels" spans a four-year period from 5 BBY to 1 BBY, beginning five years before "A New Hope" and ending one year before it.

Given that “Kenobi” occurs before some of the other series that are also based on events that occurred after Episode III and before Episode IV, there have been an increasing number of inquiries online about their entire “Star Wars” timeline. This is largely because the Inquisitors, which were depicted in “Star Wars: Rebels” as the Grand Inquisitor, are also present in the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series.

After the Battle of Yavin, which took place on 0 BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) during the events of “A New Hope,” the Rebellion eventually escalated into a full-fledged conflict with the Empire, as explored in the television series “Star Wars: Rebels.” Rebels mentions a split-off group of Rebels known as the Ghost Crew, which took its name from their ship, the Ghost.

The entire Rebels series takes place over a four-year period, starting a decade after “Episode III: Revenge of the Sith,” while also being a sequel to the show “The Clone Wars,” and ending five years after “Kenobi.” As a result, it occurs between 5 and 1 BBY. The series' epilogue, on the other hand, occurs immediately after the events of “Return of the Jedi,” which means that it occurred in 4 ABY.

Nevertheless, there are gaps in time between the four seasons of “Star Wars: Rebels,” which could imply that a year separates one season from the next. And the Rebels' events served as a prelude to the Rebellion's eventual rise, which occurred after the Death Star was destroyed on 0 BBY.

What is the plot of Star Wars Rebels?

In Rebels, we follow the stories of a variety of characters, each of whom has their own problems and objectives. Due to the events of “Order 66,” Kanan Jarrus, a padawan, was never promoted to the rank of Jedi Knight. He eventually meets Ezra Bridger, a young force-sensitive human, and reluctantly takes him under his wing.

A Lasat named Garazeb Orrelios (aka Zeb), a Mandalorian named Sabine Wren, a Twi'lek named Hera Syndulla, and an astromech droid named Chopper, plus one additional member, make up the crew alongside Jarrus and Bridger. They were part of a larger rebel movement organized by Senator Bail Organa and ex-Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano.

The Grand Inquisitor pursued the crew for much of the first act of Rebels. Darth Vader took control after the Grand Inquisitor was overthrown. Grand Admiral Thrawn ended up pursuing the Ghost Crew across the galaxy in the show's concluding season.

Where does Star Wars Rebels occur?

The Ghost Crew must carry out various missions and embark on numerous adventures on various planets and star systems throughout the galaxy, so “Star Wars: Rebels,” true to its nature as a “Star Wars” series, takes place throughout the galaxy. The early episodes of “Star Wars: Rebels,” however, spend a significant amount of time on Lothal, Ezra Bridger's home planet. But as the series progresses, it moves to various locations across the galaxy, depending on where the Ghost Crew is required to go.

The Imperial Academy, Kaller, the Sith world of Malachor, Stygeon Prime, and even Tatooine—the scene of the final conflict between Darth Maul and an elderly Obi-Wan Kenobi—are among the places where the Rebels have been. “Star Wars Rebels,” which was set in the years just before the original trilogy, also took place on Sabine’s home planet, Mandalore. And on Atollon, where the Bendu reside, a Rebellion base was established in the later episodes of the “Star Wars: Rebels” series.

Finally, the show returned to Lothal as the Ghost Crew freed the planet from the Empire's rule. Ezra Bridger performed a valiant deed that sent him and Thrawn into hyperspace, where they got lost.
