Blue Bell Creameries and Dr Pepper, two iconic Texan brands, have entered into a collaboration to create the Blue Bell Dr Pepper Float ice cream. The collaboration, which was released on Friday, May 18, is said to blend together the smoothness of vanilla ice cream and the distinct flavor of Dr Pepper-flavored sherbet.

The Blue Bell Dr Pepper Float will be readily available in all stores that sell Blue Bell Ice cream across 23 states. The announcement of the delicacy has sparked excitement across social media platforms, with Twitter users expressing their eagerness to get their hands on the newly crafted delicacy.

The Blue Bell Dr Pepper Float, which has a calorie count of 170 per serving, will be sold in pint and half-gallon sizes. The tasty treat will be readily available through 2024, although the company specified on Twitter that it could take several days to get the flavor across all the locations.

In a joint press release by the two companies on May 18, 2023, Blue Bell Sales and Marketing, Vice President, Jimmy Lawhorn called the new Blue Bell Dr Pepper Float a spin on the popular Ice Cream floats made with Dr. Pepper poured over Blue Bell ice cream. he said:

“Why not put a spin on this popular treat and create our own version? The flavor of Dr Pepper and texture of the sherbet combine perfectly with the smooth vanilla ice cream. You may find yourself reaching for a soda glass instead of a bowl.”

Senior Vice President of Dr Pepper Brand Marketing, John Alvarado emphasized the importance of the brand's Texan roots and exclaimed that Dr Pepper couldn't wait to provide fans with another refreshing way to enjoy the drink. He said:

“Our Texas heritage is so important to us at Dr Pepper, and we are excited to team up with fellow Texas-born brand, Blue Bell, to create this new delicious treat.”
