Ellen DeGeneres has recently been accused of "whining like little children" as she moved to the Cotswolds with her wife, Portia De Rossi. The accusation comes from Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist and an ally of Donald Trump.
On Saturday, November 30, Bannon spoke to The Sunday Times from his home in Arizona and talked about the couple. He said
"F**k them. They're not resilient… They had every advantage of state power. They had the high ground. And guess what, we broke them and now they're whining like little children."
As reported by Daily Mail, DeGeneres is now living in a multimillion-pound farmhouse in the Cotswolds after emigrating from the US, allegedly in protest against Trump's impending presidency.
The Cotswolds cover 800 square miles and are located in the South Central, West Midlands, and South West areas of England. This area is considered one of the national treasures of the UK for its natural beauty, rolling hills, and postcard-perfect villages filled with honey-colored stone architecture.
In his interview with The Sunday Times, Steve Bannon also predicted that MAGA would govern the US for the next 50 years if Trump delivered on his economic promises.
Ellen DeGeneres' home in Cotswolds was originally built as farmhouse
As reported by Daily Mail on December 1, 2024, the Cotswolds home that Ellen DeGeneres moved into was originally built as a farmhouse.
Over fifteen years ago, the 43-acre property was converted into a modern luxury home. It has six bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a separate one-room cottage, along with an eco-friendly heat pump installed to supply heating to the house and the pool. The home also has a five-bay garage.
A source in the Cotswolds told Daily Mail:
"It really is a beautiful house. It's so quintessentially English which as Americans they have fallen in love with, although they can forget about any glamorous southern California nightlife and weather."
The source continued:
"The area itself is very quiet, some might even say boring as there's not much to do, especially in the colder months but there are lots of celebrities in the area."
Ellen began her house-hunting in England back in October, as the Independent UK reported on December 2, 2024.
Ellen DeGeneres opened up about her changing view of fame in her Netflix special
Ellen DeGeneres' move to the Cotswolds comes months after the release of her Netflix special For Your Approval. In the show, the 66-year-old told her audience:
"Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me. I got chickens. Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean. Next time, I’ll be kicked out for being old. Old, gay, and mean, the triple crown."
Elsewhere in the special, Ellen DeGeneres described how her views about fame had changed in recent years, saying:
"I used to say, 'I don’t care what people say about me'. Now I realise I said that during the height of my popularity. I am many things, but I am not mean."
The talk show host also talked about her public reception during her routine, mentioning how a public figure is open to "everyone's interpretation."
Ellen highlighted that celebrities often adopt the philosophy of 'What other people think of me is none of my business' because no one can control what people say about them. As long as they knew the truth, that is all that matters.
The Independent UK also reported that Ellen DeGeneres' home in the Cotswolds was recently flooded after Storm Bert made landfall in the UK on November 22. The storm brought days of torrential rain and wind speeds of up to 80 mph, causing the River Thames to break its banks close to Rossi and DeGeneres' home.
