Rainn Wilson's house, which is located in California, was destroyed in a fire last month. The actor revealed the details on Instagram on November 11, 2024. Rainn lived at the house with his wife, Holiday Reinhorn, for around four years, as per People magazine.
Wilson has now shared other information related to the damages suffered by the house. He posted another video on Friday, December 13, through the Instagram page of his podcast Soul Boom and was spotted walking by the ruins of the damaged house. The caption reads:
"Amid the ashes is sometimes is where we best reflect on what truly holds value in our lives. In moments of loss, what lessons have you discovered about what matters most? Share your thoughts below."
Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight Schrute in The Office, was heard saying in the clip that he never expected that he would walk through the remains of his bedroom, closet, and bathroom. He then moved the camera towards his toilet and said:
"There's my toilet, my charred toilet, and here is my office where I actually wrote Soul Boom. There's some kind of valuable lesson here. I'm not sure what it is. Kind of death and fire teaches you a lesson about the impermanence of life and the preciousness of what we have."
Rainn continued by saying that he expects everyone to be grateful for everything that they own right now. He further stated that his brain goes offline when he walks through the place and he is unable to process everything that happened. However, he revealed that most of the house is intact and he is grateful for the same.
Rainn Wilson moved into the California house around four years ago
Also known as Rainn Percival Dietrich Wilson, he and his wife Holiday Reinhorn first came to the Southern California-based property in 2020, as stated by People magazine.
The interiors were designed with assistance from designer Tammy Randall Wood, displaying Rainn Wilson and Holiday Reinhorn's bohemian interests. The floors featured Moroccan rugs and the rooms were decorated with leafy palms. The entire house was also full of reading material.
The house was full of different artworks, with a few of them made by Wilson's father Robert. While speaking to Architectural Digest in October 2020, Holiday said that she and Rainn Wilson were planning to stay somewhere near the ocean and they developed an attraction to the house when they first saw it. She addressed the design of the house by saying:
"We didn't want the house to feel too formal or overly designed. We are two creatives sharing a home, and we wanted it to be a place where we can write and make music and tell stories. I would describe the look as global bohemian."
Reinhorn also mentioned that the house was made to encourage creativity and they wanted to make it a place where all the close friends alongside friends and collaborators would gather together, calling it an "inspiring place" where they could stay in lockdown.
According to People magazine, Rainn Wilson and Holiday Reinhorn exchanged vows in June 1995, and are the parents of a son named Walter McKenzie. Reinhorn has been pursuing a career as a fiction writer and appeared in a lot of magazines such as Tin House.
