The story of Chicago P.D. revolves around uniformed patrol officers and the Intelligence Unit of the 21st District of the Chicago Police Department and how they fight against perpetrators who are disrupting the city's peace. The sole motive of the characters is to maintain peace and safety in Chicago city. The first three seasons were focused on patrol and Intelligence officers. However, the show's focus then shifted to Intelligence Unit in the second half of season four.
