What is Daredevil about?

In the first season, Matt Murdock, a lawyer with extraordinary sensory abilities acquired after a childhood accident that left him blind, assumes the mantle of Daredevil to combat crime in the perilous streets of Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Simultaneously, he becomes entangled in a web of conspiracy orchestrated by the notorious Wilson Fisk, the leader of the criminal underworld.

Season two finds Murdock navigating the delicate balance between his dual roles as a lawyer and the vigilante Daredevil, encountering the merciless vigilante Punisher, who employs more lethal methods, and reuniting with his former flame, Elektra Natchios.

In the third season, following his disappearance after the events of The Defenders, Murdock resurfaces as a fractured individual when Fisk is released from prison, faced with the critical choice of hiding as a criminal lawyer or embracing his destiny as a heroic vigilante.

Did Netflix cancel Daredevil?

The inaugural season of Daredevil premiered in its entirety on Netflix on April 10, 2015, followed by the second season on March 18, 2016, and the third season on October 19, 2018. These highly regarded seasons garnered critical acclaim and earned numerous accolades, including several Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards nominations.

Additionally, the positive reception led to a spin-off series centered around Jon Bernthal's character, Frank Castle / Punisher, titled The Punisher, which was commissioned by Netflix in April 2016.

Unfortunately, Daredevil faced cancellation by Netflix on November 29, 2018. However, in March 2022, following Disney's reacquisition of the license, all of Netflix's Marvel series, including Daredevil, were removed from Netflix and made available exclusively on Disney+.
