What happened at the end of Supernatural?
During the final episodes of Supernatural, Billie (the new Death) comes to kill Dean Winchester after she betrayed Team Free Will. Castiel and Dean were running for their lives when she was chasing them through the bunker. Cas then summons the empty to sacrifice himself and to kill Billie after he confesses his love to Dean, meanwhile, Sam, along with Donna and alternate-world Bobby, witnesses the disappearance of every human being on the planet.
In the penultimate episode, "Inherit the Earth," Sam and Dean fought against hordes of zombies and other monsters as the barrier between Heaven and Hell broke. They managed to defeat these threats with the help of their friends, including Castiel (played by Misha Collins) and Jack (played by Alexander Calvert).
In the final episode, "Carry On," the focus shifted to Sam and Dean's bond as brothers and their commitment to their hunter's way of life. They found themselves facing a new threat but resolved to face it together, as they always had. In a tragic turn of events, while on a routine hunting mission, Dean was fatally impaled by a rusty nail.
As Dean lay dying, Sam called for help but realized that no one could save his brother this time. Dean expressed his love for Sam and thanked him for always being there. Sam, devastated by the loss, carried Dean's body to the Impala, their beloved car, and drove off into the sunset.
The story then jumps forward in time, showing Sam leading a normal life, settling down with a family, and naming his son Dean in honor of his late brother. The final scene revealed that Dean's spirit was in Heaven, reuniting with old friends and finding peace.
