Seasons one, three, five, and six of "Jersey Shore" were shot in New Jersey; season two was shot in South Beach, Florida; and season four was shot in Florence, Italy. The American reality television show aired on MTV from December 3, 2009, to December 20, 2012.
The show's six seasons had 71 episodes, which ardent fans continue to watch to follow the lives of eight housemates at the aforementioned vacation homes. The show gained popularity despite controversy and claims of racial stereotyping. The original series, created by SallyAnn Salsano, introduced reality stars like Pauly D and Snooki to the public.
Some of the cinematography was handled by Brian Steimle, who was also responsible for "Run's House" and "Daddy's Girl," and production designer Jake Leslie of "Tool Academy" joined the team.
The series, which features the name "Jersey," extensively examines the culture of the coastal state. Additionally, depending on where you are filming, the state entices producers by providing a 30 to 35% tax credit for qualified production expenses. The deal appears profitable with the additional 2% diversity bonus.
The following are the filming locations for "Jersey Shore":
Seaside Heights, New Jersey
The "Jersey Shore House," located in the Ocean County coastal town of Seaside Heights, was where the majority of the filming took place. The house, which can be found at 1209 Ocean Terrace and is now a popular tourist destination, has a distinctive exterior and colorful doors.
The entire set, including the duck phone and the iconic hot tub, was brought in by the production company. To continue the Italian-American theme, they also added Cadillac wheels and "Scarface" posters.
The cast members worked at the nearby Shore Store, a clothing store run by Danny and Paul Merk, while they were in the area. Additional scenes were filmed at Jenkinson's Inlet Bar at 3 Broadway in Point Pleasant Beach and the Beachcombers Bar and Grill at 100 Ocean Terrace.
The local economy benefited from "The Jersey Shore House" appearing in four of the six seasons. According to reports, the home had an IMX camera, 6 DV cameras, 12 hand-held cameras, and 35 remote-controlled cameras in fixed locations, and the only private area for the residents was the shower.
Miami Beach, Florida
The second season's filming began in Miami Beach, Florida's South Beach neighborhood, but towards the end, the cast and crew headed back to the Jersey Shore House in New Jersey. The crew members stayed at the Metropole Suites South Beach in Miami Beach, an opulent tourist hotspot situated at 635 Collins Avenue.
The team worked at Lecca-Lecca Gelato Caffe during the season, one of the cast members' favorite hangouts, but it has since been closed. Along with places like Klutch, Mi-Vl, Felt, Vinyl & Kai (where Ronnie and Sammi fight in season 2, episode 4), and Tantra Restaurant and Lounge (Ramona's workplace for the season), the BED Nightclub is also not operating.
Even so, you can still visit Club Space, the bar where Snooki (Nicole LaVelle) gets into a fight and The Situation (Michael Sorrentino) makes matters worse. The trendy restaurant can be found in Miami at 34 Northeast 11th Street.
The Dream Nightclub, where Angelina spends her final moments with the team before departing again, is also closed. The former address of the nightclub in Miami was 1532 Washington Avenue.
The Cybr Caffe, at 1574 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach, where Snooki and JWoww (Jennifer Farley) penned the infamous anonymous note, was another notable place the cast and crew visited. While Ocean's Ten is located at 960 Ocean Drive in Miami Beach, the XO Hookah Bar & Lounge is currently closed.
Other Date Spots and Locations in Florida
Tiramesu, Grazie Italian Cuisine, Funky Sexy Couture, Captive Sun, and Xtreme Gym are examples of date spots and other places from the season that are no longer in operation.
The South Beach laundry where the cast and crew used to take their dirty clothing is called Wash Club South Beach, and it is located at 510 Washington Avenue. Additionally, Snooki and JWoww's go-to nail salon, Blush Nail Salon, is located in Miami Beach at 1433 Alton Road.
Laurenzo's Italian Market and Cafe, which was formerly situated at 16385 West Dixie Highway in North Miami Beach, has sadly shut down. This is where the team gets all of their seasonal groceries.
However, the girls' favorite sushi restaurant, Moshi Moshi South Beach, is still open for business. The charming little restaurant can be found in Miami Beach at 1448 Washington Avenue.
Florence, Italy
In season 4, the cast travels to Italy and reconnects with their Italian heritage. However, the cast and crew’s time spent filming in the bustling historical city of Florence nearly turned out atrocious. First off, Florence's mayor, Matteo Renzi, forbade the crew from photographing the cast drinking in public or in establishments that served alcohol.
Additionally, they were limited to taking exterior shots of historical structures and were unable to shoot scenes inside of them. As a result, the cast members spend the majority of the season exploring the city and working at the O'Vesuvio pizzeria, which is situated on Via dei Cimatori close to the renowned Uffizi Gallery.
Since there weren't many places with outdoor spaces where they could film, the team had a hard time finding a set or a location to proceed. Finally, the production crew bought an Italian bank and undertook extensive changes. Since the bank did not have a patio, the team decided to construct one using scaffolding from the building.
