Abbie Stockard was crowned as Miss America 2025 on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, Florida. The 22-year-old had been crowned Miss Alabama 2024 in June 2024 following which she entered the Miss America pageant.
Abbie Stockard is a 22-year-old nursing student and a cheerleader from Birmingham, Alabama. In the pageant, she competed against 52 women from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
Foreign-born Miss Texas 2024 Annette Addo-Yobo was crowned the first runner-up, with Miss Tennessee 2024 Carley Vogel being named the second runner-up. Meanwhile, Miss Florida 2024 Casana Fink and Miss Ohio 2024 Stephanie Finoti were crowned third and fourth runners-up.
As the winner of Miss America 2025Abbie earned a scholarship of $50,000 along with a crown from her predecessor, Miss America 2024, Madison Marsh. Meanwhile, all the runners-up each received $10,000 in scholarships.

Abbie Stockard is the daughter of Brad and Kim Stockard of Vestavia Hills. She has a twin brother Bradley and a younger sister, Lilly. The 22-year-old is a senior at Auburn University where she is currently pursuing her majors in nursing along with her brother. According to AL.com, Abbie aims to get an advanced degree, such as a PhD in nurse anesthesia, and specialize in the field of pediatrics.
Abbie Stockard attended Vestavia Hills High School and loves the “tight-knit community” of her hometown, as per the same outlet. While she has taken a break from studying for the last two years, she is an active student recruiter for her university. There, she is also a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority as well as the Tiger Paws dance/cheerleading team.
A lifelong dancer, Abbie Stockard has trained at the Jackie O’Neal School of Dance since she was two years old. She then joined the Birmingham Dance Theater as an adolescent. Abbie was also part of her school’s Rebelette Dance Team.
However, while speaking to AL.com last July, she shared that dancing isn’t something she wanted to do professionally. She revealed that she had turned down offers from Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.
In the same interview, Abbie Stockard shared how she was “equipped with the skills” to be an effective winner of the Miss America title. At the time, she said that winning the title would be “absolutely incredible.” She noted that she had a "plan as Miss America" as she believed she would be "an effective brand ambassador" who would "help increase their visibility."
“And the way I think of myself is, I’m very joyful. I’m very compassionate. I love to serve, and that would be the forefront of my reign,” she shared.
Ahead of the Miss America 2025 final, Abbie Stockard took to Instagram and shared a post. She wrote that she was "filled with excitement, honor, and gratitude" as she was stepping into the evening.
“Tonight, a new Miss America will be crowned. As I step into this evening, I am filled with excitement, honor, and gratitude. Thanking the Lord for placing me here this week and giving me one of the most incredible experiences of my life,” she wrote.
The all-in-one hiker, foodie, and fashionista added that regardless of whether she won or not, she was grateful for the people in her life for making her "feel so appreciated and loved." She thanked her friends, family, and the Miss Alabama Board along with the "people of Alabama" for supporting her. Abbie added that she hoped she had made them "proud and represented [you] well."
Abbie wrapped up her post with a quote from the scriptures (Romans 8:28).
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose," the quote read.
On Sunday night after her win, in a video uploaded on the official Miss America account, she was heard saying that it was "insane" and she didn't know what she "did to deserve this."
As for the event, Abbie Stockard performed a contemporary dance form to the Lauren Daigle song, You Say. Later, she stepped on the stage in a backless, glittering silver and white gown for her eveningwear look.
She was asked to speak on unemployment. She talked about a labor force participation decline between the ages of 25 to 54 in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I believe we need to encourage those (people) to join the workforce, adapt to new skills, and learn to grow in our current workforce and industries we have today,” Abbie Stockard noted.
She also shared her mother and her best friends as her inspirations. While her mother worked multiple jobs, her best friend is currently suffering from cystic fibrosis.
Abbie Stockard’s charity initiative for the Miss America pageant was to raise money for research on this medical condition. The initiative is titled, “Be the Change: Find a Cure — Cystic Fibrosis Awareness.”
Stockard, who considers Oprah as her celebrity role model, will now enjoy a yearlong reign. Meanwhile, Miss Alabama 2024 runner-up Emma Terry will take over Abbie's place as Miss Alabama.
Notably, Abbie Stockard is the fourth Miss Alabama to win Miss America. Deidre Downs (2005), Heather Whitestone (1995), and Yolande Betbeze (1951) were the previous titleholders.
The Miss America Organization also crowned Peyton Bolling as Miss America's Teen 2025 on Saturday night.
