Chad Dillon, who gained recognition as the owner of the restaurant Boiler Seafood & Crab Boil, alongside Lil Baby, was recently shot dead on July 23, 2024. The incident happened outside the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, and although his identity was not revealed in the beginning, Dillon was identified by his attorney Malcolm Conner.
Dillon's career started around 2018 when he arrived in Atlanta and discovered that there was a lot of profit in running seafood restaurants. He began by launching a franchise called Juicy Crab and later developed a close friendship with Lil Baby, leading to the launch of their successful restaurant.
Lt Andrew Smith, who works for the Atlanta Police Department, appeared for an interview with Fox 5 Atlanta, saying that they discovered Chad Dillon with a gunshot wound and he was confirmed dead on the spot.
Social media platforms were flooded with tributes when the news of Chad's death went viral. Nonprofit organization The Vivid Faces of the Vanished shared a tribute post on Facebook where they recalled Dillon's flawless work over the years. They added:
"Chad discovered his love for the culinary world, opening The Boiler Seafood in Buckhead, an Atlanta suburb. Chad also started a foundation helping formerly incarcerated individuals start their own business."
Chad's friends also spoke up on their versions of the incident as they spoke to Atlanta News First. They stated that Dillon was inside a restaurant called Dipped N Butter when gunshots were fired at him and the cops have already discovered a Rolls Royce near the place.
Dillon was 33 years old at the time of death and the motive behind the incident remains unknown for now. Further updates are currently awaited from the Atlanta Police Department.

Chad Dillon's LinkedIn profile stated that he obtained a degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Howard University. His bio on the platform also stated:
"Serial entrepreneur and successful restauranteur with over 10 Million in food sales and success multi million dollar acquisition of SongPlay."
In an interview with Ebony Magazine last year, Chad said that he initially purchased a car and started earning by renting the vehicle for anyone in need.
He added that he bought a few more cars and things changed for him after coming to Atlanta.
He recalled his collaboration with Lil Baby by saying that the latter was the person who chose a spot for their restaurant. Dillon revealed that the rapper was planning to give the name The Menu to the restaurant and Chad later proposed the name The Seafood Menu.
The restaurant was serving food items at an affordable price.
Although the restaurant was launched during the Covid-19 pandemic, it ended up accumulating profits worth millions.
In another conversation with Shoutout Atlanta in 2022, Chad Dillon opened up on why he decided to open the restaurant during the pandemic.
"While a lot of restaurants were closing in such a unfortunate times, I understood that I would need to be innovative and also give customers what they wanted. I was solving a problem and supplying a restaurant market that Buckhead was missing."
Chad Dillon revealed in the same interview that there was a time when he sold lemonade and candy. Furthermore, he recommended a few locations for the best food, including The Boiler Atlanta, saying that there is hardly anyone who does not love "seafood and crab legs."
As mentioned, the Atlanta Police Department has launched an investigation to find more details related to Chad's death. Meanwhile, detailed information on his survivors remains unknown for now.
