On August 10, 2024, Dennis Troper took to Facebook to announce the demise of his wife, former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki. The 56-year-old, who was one of the first employees at Google, passed away due to non-small cell lung cancer. Susan Wojcicki is survived by Dennis, their four children, and her sister Anne Wojcicki, who is the founder of 23andMe, a personal genomics company.
Dennis and Susan got married on August 23, 1998, when Dennis was in a managerial position at Google. Dennis still works at Google as Director of Product Management for Wear OS by Google. According to TechAviv, Dennis previously worked as the Product Director for Google Apps and was the Group Product Manager for Google's internal CRM tools.
Dennis Troper has also worked as a product manager for AdWords, in addition to which he has led product development for Google Fiber and for the platforms business products like Google My Business and Google+ Pages.

Before joining Google in early 2003, Dennis Troper started his journey as a senior technology consultant at Deloitte in 1997, after which he joined Concur as a senior applications consultant in 1998 and as a senior product manager at Oracle in 2001.
Additionally, Dennis Troper is one of the directors at Camp Tawonga, which is a 95-year-old camp dubbed a leader in Jewish camping. According to the Camp Tawonga website, Dennis Troper grew up in Costa Rica and then moved to the Bay Area, where he served on the boards of the Anti-Defamation League and Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School. For his education, Dennis pursued a BA in Economics from the University of Texas and his M.S. in Applied Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
In the Facebook post announcing the demise of his wife Susan, Dennis shared multiple photos of his late spouse. He wrote that it was with profound sadness that he was sharing the news of his wife of 26 years and mother to his five children leaving them after living with non-small cell lung cancer for 2 years. Dennis Tropper's post also mentioned:
"Susan was not just my best friend and partner in life, but a brilliant mind, a loving mother, and a dear friend to many. Her impact on our family and the world was immeasurable. We are heartbroken, but grateful for the time we had with her. Please keep our family in your thoughts as we navigate this difficult time."
The comment section of Dennis' Facebook post is filled with comments from internet users offering their condolences toward the veteran Google manager's loss.
A Mercury News article from 2011 dubbed Susan Wojcicki as the most important Googler that people have never heard of and called her a "soccer mom" who loved getting home to be able to have dinner with her kids every night.
Susan Wojcicki and Dennis Troper share five children; however, one of their sons, Marco Troper, died of an accidental overdose in his dorm at the University of California in February 2024 at the age of 19. According to PEOPLE, the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau in California confirmed that Marco died of "acute combined drug toxicity."
