His role as Mr. Bones in the Broadway musical "The Scottsboro Boys" is what helped the actor get noticed in the industry. Colman Domingo is married to Raúl Domingo. The two have been married since 2014 and have been inseparable ever since. For the unversed, Domingo met his other half back in 2005 through an unexpected interaction. According to the Lincoln Star, he met Raúl Domingo in a Walgreens parking lot.

During his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in August 2022, Domingo disclosed details on how he met his now husband at a parking lot and how it turned his entire life around. Reminiscing the past, Colman began by saying, "OK, you gotta picture 17 years ago, I was walking down the street going into a Walgreens in Berkeley, California.” The actor added, "We passed each other. We never spoke."

Domingo continued, "A few days later, I'm on Craigslist tryna buy a used computer to help with my writing. I went to the home screen and you know, they have Missed Connections, things like ads, so I would read them because I'm a romantic." Domingo then disclosed that while he was surfing Craigslist’s ‘Missed Connections’, the actor revealed that while surfing the second page of missed connections he came across a message that read him shocked. Colman said, "I go to the second page of Missed Connections and it said, 'Saw you outside of Walgreens, Berkeley.'"

Domingo concluded the story by revealing that the pair met two days later and that they have been together ever since.

According to Harper Bazaar, Raúl Domingo is a producer and director. Similarly to his husband, Domingo works in the entertainment industry too and has co-written and co-directed the animated short movie, New Moon. Colman’s husband also has a knack for fashion and has worked for luxury brands, like Lanvin and Max Mara.

Domingo has also been hired as an assistant costume designer on the sets of Colman Domingo’s movie.
