The news of Anisha being married was a huge surprise to all her fans. Months after keeping her wedding a secret, Family Karma's Anisha Ramakrishna revealed that she was married to Dr. Anand Tarpara. The two had an intimate wedding with just 20 guests at her parents' house in Miami.
When revealing details about her marriage with Tarpara, Anisha Ramakrishna told PEOPLE, "I wanted an auspicious day, and we have Diwali in our Indian culture." She also added, "It's kind of our new year. Oct. 8 is the start of the year for us and all good things in Hinduism. We wanted to just get married versus plan this huge wedding and then we're just delaying it for another year. When you're older, I think it's different. It's more about the marriage, not necessarily the wedding."
Ramakrishna also added that for their wedding, they wanted to celebrate it their way. "We didn't get to do the whole five-day Indian thing for our wedding because of our schedules," says Ramakrishna, who splits her time between the east coast and Scottsdale, Arizona, where her husband works. "My parents were livid, his parents were livid. I think they still are."
Who is Dr. Anand Tarpara?
Fans would definitely be very interested to know who Anisha Ramakrishna's husband is. Dr. Anand Tarpara is a board-certified vascular and general surgeon. According to his LinkedIn profile, he works full-time at Honor Health and resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. He spent two years as a vascular surgeon at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals before joining HonorHealth. Tarpara attended Texas Tech University Health Science Center for his postgraduate degree in medicine.
How did Anisha Ramakrishna and Anand Tarpara meet?
Ramakrishna and Tarpara met each other online during the winter of 2021. During that time, Ramakrishna was living in New York and Tarpara was in Philadelphia. According to People, for their first date, the couple walked around Manhattan and then went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and had Thai food for dinner before ending the evening with slices of pizza.
"It was the perfect winter first date," Anisha said to People. "We ended up at East Village Pizza. That's a special place for us, and pizza's been a thing in our relationship," she added.
After eight months of dating and falling head over heels for each other, the couple moved in together. The two later got engaged in April 2022 and then married on October 8, 2022.
