The 2013 released American supernatural horror film directed by James Wan, changed everyone's ideology of a terrifying horror film. As per various reviews and testimony, the film left many shocked and shaking even after the film had ended. The Conjuring is considered to be one of the scariest movies which were based on the true horror happenings of the actual Perron family.

The film was released on July 19, 2013, and was first about to be titled as The Warren Files. However, the makers later titled it as The Conjuring and heavily revolved around the alleged real-life exploits of Ed and Lorraine Warren, who were known for being the top paranormal investigators of their time.

Due to the film's success, James Wan came up with The Conjuring Universe franchise which then continues with sequels and prequels including - The Conjuring 2, Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, Annabelle Comes Home, The Nun, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Crooked Man. The last film that was mentioned, is in development.

The Conjuring is based on the real-life horror of the Perron family who experienced some disturbing events in their newly occupied farmhouse in Rhode Island in 1971 and how the Warren couple helped them get rid from the malevolent spirit that was haunting them by possessing Carolyn Perron the lady of the house.

From the very start of the film, till its end, the cinematography of the film was at its absolute perfection, leaving many with chills. The film was made on a budget of $20 million and grossed over $319 million at the box office, making it an absolute hit. Its sequel was released in 2016.
