In the latest SNL skit on December 14, 2024, Jane Wickline sang as pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter, telling Colin Jost that despite not looking or sounding like her, for the purpose of the song, she'll be Carpenter.

Wickline told Jost that a lot of people on the internet like to start juicy rumors about whether pop stars are gay. As Sabrina Carpenter, she wrote a song called "When Will Even One Person Do That About Me?'"

The lyrics of the song stated:

“Taylor Swift sings about a crush on her best friend, and you all cry lesbian because she didn’t phrase it / My boy best friend. In a music video I make out with Jenna Ortega / No one doubts me at all when I say this is a metaphor for one of my ex-boyfriends / And that is all it was. But no one even wondered.”

Wickline continued singing:

“Ariana sings break up with your girlfriend / Everyone’s pissed / Harry wears rainbow pants. You write 50 articles about it / I make out with Jenna Ortega passionately/ And everyone’s like, I heard this song is about Shawn Mendes / Help me / Just tell me where I’m going wrong/ Why am I the only straight pop star taken at their word / It’s lonely.”

Internet users were quick to express their opinions on Jane Wickline's song on SNL via X wherein one of the netizens tweeted:

Who is Jane Wickline? Details about SNL's newest addition explored

Saturday Night Live returned for its 50th season on September 28, 2024, with new Featured Players Emil Wakim, Ashley Padilla, and Jane Wickline. SNL announced the three new additions on September 9 along with its three-hour special celebrating 50 years on NBC.

According to a report by NBC dated November 23, 2024, Jane Wickline is popular on platforms like TikTok and she performs sketches across the country on tour. Additionally, she was also a part of the TikTok comedy series "Stapleview". Talking about being famous on TikTok in an interview with The Oberlin Review in 2021, Wickline said:

“TikTok makes the illusion of everyone being famous, which is really interesting because … videos are so short that so many people can be creators.”

She added that "no one knows how the algorithm works" and one's work ends up getting shown to people in their extended circle, making it come back in a way that makes the creator feel more important than they are.

NBC's report mentioned that Jane Wickline was in Times Square in midtown Manhattan when she got the call about being cast in SNL. Recalling her reaction, Wickline said:

"I was like, 'This is so on the nose.' It was amazing. I started violently sobbing on the phone and then I called my mom also."

According to a report by Us Magazine dated October 6, 2024, Wickline is from California and graduated from Santa Monica High School in 2017. Additionally, in one of her Instagram videos from 2020, she is seen practicing Along Came Betty on a trumpet.
