Kabir Singh, one of the semi-finalists in America's Got Talent Season 16, unexpectedly passed away on December 4, 2024, at the age of 39. The circumstances leading to the comedian's demise are yet to be made official.
Following his appearance on AGT, Kabir continued pursuing a career as a standup in the last few years. He performed on various occasions and his Instagram bio stated that he has been a part of the popular animated sitcom, Family Guy.
Notably, the news was confirmed by Singh's fiancée while speaking to People magazine. While further updates are awaited on his cause of death, sources for TMZ claimed that Singh was suffering from some health problems and an investigation has been launched to find other information.
Kabir Singh's fans and other famous faces took to different social media platforms to express their grief over his death. One of them was comedian Lukas Dulins Seely, who shared a Facebook post with some photos and recalled the moments he had with Kabir during a show at the Yellowstone Club in the past. Lukas also wrote:
"The dude was funny on and off stage. I'm not an easy person to make laugh but this guy would always have me rolling. Even when I moved back to Montana from LA, he always kept in touch with me."
The comments section of the post was also flooded with tributes where people called Kabir a "funny guy" alongside a person saying that he had a "big heart."
Although TMZ stated that Singh died from natural causes, a toxicology report is also being prepared which is expected to make things clear.
Kabir Singh performed at various popular venues throughout his career
As mentioned, Kabir participated in the 16th season of America's Got Talent, which premiered in 2021. He was eliminated before he reached the final, as stated by Daily Mail. However, he was featured in an episode of Family Guy around five years before he came to the NBC talent show.
Since Kabir Singh was born into an Indian-American family, he used the theme of multicultural society in his standup acts over the years, as per his obituary on Merradon. The obituary stated that he began pursuing his passion for comedy in college and spent his childhood in Fremont, California.
Kabir had other shows in his credits, including Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution, which aired on Comedy Central. His IMDb page stated that he appeared on shows like StaannDUP! and Reza Rifts.
Singh became a full-time comedian as soon as he arrived in Los Angeles and he used to mix observational humor, cultural commentary, and anecdotes, which managed to bring a laugh in the faces of those who attended his performances at places like Hollywood Improv.
Kabir Singh's obituary stated that he performed at festivals like Just For Laughs. Between all these, he slowly expanded his career on other platforms and even worked with comedians simultaneously.
Kabir was additionally active on Instagram with around 10,000 followers where he shared posts related to his upcoming shows at different venues. His last performance happened at the Deaf Puppies Comedy Club on November 3, 2024.
Meanwhile, Kabir Singh's close friend Jeremy Curry said in a Facebook post that his funeral is scheduled at Hayward, California next week on December 14.
