During an interview in 2017 with Creative Continuity, Morgan Lofting recalled how she was able to grab the opportunity of working on G.I. Joe as she said:

"I started in New York in the 70s and then I got married and I came out to the West Coast. If you're an actor, you do a little bit of everything you try and do on camera. You do a little bit of television and you do any voice work that comes along because you need a little odd jobs if you have star and the opportunity to do the character voices, so much fun."

In between working as a voice actress during the 80s, Lofting obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees in history from California State University and was additionally employed as a librarian, as stated by CBR.
