Singer Portable Omolalomi recently became the talk of the town after he claimed that Ileriolouwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, was killed by the enemies of his ex-boss, Naira Marley, from Marlian Music. Portable made the claims in a video that has now gone viral on social media.
In the clip, he stated that Mohbad was associated with Marlian Music for a long time but he later cut ties with the company. This was because Mohbad reportedly felt that Marlian Music was "not showing love" to him.
He then joined the company's rival and Portable mentioned that this betrayal led to Mohbad's death, as per the Daily Post. He claimed that those who killed the artist wished to implicate Naira Marley in the case.
Portable Omolalomi described Mohbad as a "betrayer" and translated to English via Daily Post, he said:
"Mohbad was killed because he was a betrayer. We help these young artists and make them blow but they repay us with evil. After everything Marlian music did for Mohbad, he later said they didn't love him. He left the label and went to associate with the enemies of Naira Marley."
He continued:
"Those ones then killed him to implicate Naira. God will save Naira from this mess because he only helped Mohbad out of a good heart but he betrayed him."
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, as per Nigerian Tribune. The outlet stated that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police noted that Naira Marley and Sam Larry threatened and bulled Mohbad when he was alive. They also revealed that the police department had evidence to prove that the due assaulted Mohbad.
Portable Omolalomi is well-known for his track Zazuu Zeh
The artist grew up in Abeokuta and became an expert in the Yoruba language during his childhood. Portable Omolalomi followed the work of artists like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur, and more. He then developed an interest in Yoruba rap and decided to pursue it as a full-time music career.
He later shifted to Lagos, Africa and he tried to approach producers, as per The City Celeb. He recorded a few singles and his life took a turn when he met musician Olamide.
Portable Omolalomi was then brought in to work with Poco Lee, leading to the release of the single Zazuu Zeh, which is one of his most well-known tracks. He has released numerous songs including La Powder, Crazy Masquerade, Ayomi, Bata Wahala, and more.
Portable Omolalomi's net worth is estimated to be somewhere between $2,000 and $30,000, as per The City Celeb.
Mohbad's cause of death remains under investigation
According to the police officers, a nursing assistant named Feyisayo Ogedengbe reportedly injected the late star in a negligent way and was later arrested, as per BBC.
The publication revealed that Mohbad got into a fight with his childhood friend Oluwatosin Owoduni after the former reportedly attempted to hit him. Mohbad missed and mistakenly hit a car window, due to which he cut his hand.
Mohbad then began complaining about pain, which he said was "unbearable," as per BBC. One of his friends, Ayobami Sadiq, then called Ogedengbe to the artist's house to help with his wound. This was when the nursing assistant reportedly injected Mohbad with three drugs, after which he began experiencing several side effects.
He was then taken to the hospital, where he lost his life. Several fans took to social media at the time and mourned the loss of the artist. An investigation into Mohbad's death is currently ongoing.
