Some of his notable roles include Ricky Fitts in "American Beauty," which got him nominated for a BAFTA Award; Erik in "Mission: Fallout,” Doyle in “Interstellar,” and Jamie Dutton in the TV series “Yellowstone.”

He was also featured in the documentary "My Big Break," which talked about his rise to fame after "American Beauty" and his battles with substance abuse. In 2010, he resurrected his career by taking the lead role in the premiere of “Venus in Fur” by David Ives in an off-Broadway production. He has also starred in other movies like “The Four Feathers,” “P2,” “Ghost Rider,” and “Pete’s Dragon.”
