Bre Tiesi, a 32-year-old model-turned-real estate agent, recently joined the cast of the hit Netflix series Selling Sunset. What many people don't know is that Tiesi was initially asked to appear on the show much earlier, in either season 2 or 3. Tiesi, the newcomer on the show, spoke about why she rejected the offer at that time.
"I was asked in season two or three."
Bre Tiesi, revealed this to PEOPLE during an exclusive conversation prior to the highly-anticipated Selling Sunset season 6 premiere on Friday.
At the time of the initial offer, Tiesi was going through a difficult period in her personal life.
"I was asked a while ago, and I had just started my divorce, and I had just dealt with all his madness."
Following her split from former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel in March 2019, accusations of infidelity emerged, leading Tiesi to file for divorce in December 2019. Dealing with the emotional toll of the divorce, Tiesi felt it was not the right time to join the show.
Personal turmoil and the rejection: Why did Bre Tiesi decline the Selling Sunset offer before?
The couple had split in March of 2019, amid allegations of infidelity, and Tiesi filed for divorce in December of that year. The divorce was finally settled in November 2021.
Tiesi explained that she was in a bad place emotionally when the offer came her way. She had just gone through the ups and downs of her divorce and needed time to heal and find herself again. Joining Selling Sunset during that time would not have been ideal for her. She wanted to focus on rebuilding her life and figuring out what she truly wanted to do before putting her whole life out there to the world.
Netflix came back with the offer again after her pregnancy. This time, she felt she was in a better place. Bre Tiesi, a mother and a real estate agent, joined The Oppenheim Group at the start of season 6.
Model to mogul: Tiesi's journey as seen in Selling Sunset season 6
Before making her mark on Selling Sunset, Bre Tiesi embarked on an exciting transition, going from modeling to real estate. Eager to pursue a more fulfilling career, she decided to dive headfirst into the world of property. Through unwavering dedication and tapping into her extensive network, Tiesi achieved remarkable success, sealing million-dollar sales and establishing herself as a rising star in the industry.
Bre Tiesi, who is a new mom, also spoke about her open relationship with Nick Cannon who she refers to as "my man" and calls her best friend in Selling Sunset season 6.
"My situation is pretty interesting, you know? I wouldn't say I'm single. It's more like I've been in, like, an open relationship, but not exactly, you know?"
Tiesi goes on to explain that she and Cannon have this understanding where they don't feel the need to be faithful, and she's just not into the whole traditional relationship thing.
"I'm not really the monogamous type, if you catch my drift," she said with a playful smirk.
Despite being a newcomer to the Selling Sunset family, Bre Tiesi quickly found her tribe within the cast. Heather Rae El Moussa became her ride-or-die confidante right from the start, forming an unbreakable bond. As time passed, Tiesi's friendships with Emma Hernan, Chrishell Stause, and Amanza Smith grew deeper, while she also continued to foster meaningful connections with the rest of the cast.
But not only friendships were forged, even a feud was on the play. Bre Teisi and Chelsea Lazkani did not seem to see eye to eye as the former had strong opinions about Bre's parenting and relationship choices.
"And I would say my least favorite, I'm sure everyone knows, is Chelsea. But it really is more that she has a problem with me," Bre said in an interview when asked who she had bonded with the least within the office.
This reminded the viewers a lot of former cast member Christine Quinn, and there were several comments about Bre Tiesi being the new Christine Quinn. This didn't really bother Bre as Quinn had been nothing but lovely to her.
Bre Tiesi's journey to joining Selling Sunset has been nothing short of remarkable. Even though she initially declined the offer, she is now rocking the real estate game like a boss on the Selling Sunset season 6 only on Netflix.
