On December 4, 2024, X page @TheBabylonBee posted an edited photograph of Kash Patel and Vivek Ramaswamy, alleging that the two will perform a "traditional Bollywood ceremony" to celebrate Trump's inauguration. The post showcases Ramaswamy and Patel's faces morphed onto South Indian actors, Ram Charan and N.T. Rama Rao Jr., from the 2022 movie, RRR.
Additionally, the Babylon Bee website posted the same news on December 3, 2024, adding details to the same. The website mentioned President-elect Donald Trump's alleged comment wherein he stated:
"Vivek and Kash will crush the Deep State, but before that, they will perform the most special and incredible Indian dance the world has ever seen."
The statement continued:
"There will be eagles and tigers and elephants and dancing women, and they will even make that cool dance move where it looks like they're trying to screw in a lightbulb. It will be almost as cool as my dance moves, but not quite, let's be honest."
The article also mentioned that Trump has confirmed that Kash Patel and Vivek Ramaswamy have "set aside their duties as part of Trump's transition team" and are devoting their attention to what is going to be "the Bollywood ceremony to end all Bollywood ceremonies." The Babylon Bee's article claimed that at the time the piece was published, the president-elect's transition team also recruited JD Vance's wife, Usha Vance, to be a part of the performance.
However, no other prominent media outlet or publication has reported the news of Kash Patel and Vivek Ramaswamy performing at Trump's inauguration. Additionally, the president-elect's quote mentioned in The Babylon Bee's article cannot be traced to any news outlet or any of his social media accounts.
The Babylon Bee's About Us page mentions that it is "the world's best satire site" and that its news is "totally inerrant" in all of its claims, making the Patel-Ramaswamy performance claim untrue and a satire. The website writes about politics, Christian things, and everyday life.
"Donald Trump is focussed on what makes people's lives better"— Vivek Ramaswamy comments on president-elect
In an interview with ABC News, dated November 10, 2024, Vivek Ramaswamy talked about the president-elect and the kind of changes that he will bring to the table. Ramaswamy was asked how Trump was approaching the transition, to which the American entrepreneur said that the president-elect cares about uniting the country, calling it Trump's "number one focus".
He also said that the current party was a new Republican party, citing that the party now comprised "a multi-ethnic, working-class coalition" with Hispanic and Black voters along with a primary base of the youth. Ramaswamy said that the new Republican party believed in the idea of restoring self-governance.
Further in the interview, Vivek Ramaswamy said that Trump believes he is going to be a "president for all Americans". Giving an example of how he didn't prosecute Hillary Clinton in his first term despite crowds chanting "Lock her up" at the time, Ramaswamy said:
"I think Donald Trump is focused on what makes people's lives better. And actually, my message to Democrats out there, even those who didn't vote for Donald Trump, is to give him a chance to actually make your life better."
Vivek Ramaswamy added that people who had given into false narratives about Trump were going to be pleasantly surprised with changes like better pay-check amounts, "prices coming down", and a secure border.
According to a report by ABC News dated November 13, 2024, Donald Trump announced that Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk will lead a newly formed department called the "Department of Government Efficiency".
Calling them "wonderful Americans", Trump said that the department would make way for his administration to take apart Government Bureaucracy, cut down excess regulations and wasteful expenditures and redevelop Federal Agencies.
