Eddie Hearn had mixed emotions following the Leigh Wood vs. Michael Conlan fight. On the one hand, he was ecstatic that his fighter was able to pull off such an amazing comeback. On the other hand, he was praying for Michael Conlan's health and safety.

In an interview with iFL TV, Hearn said:

"Very concerning, I've seen some terrible things at ringside, and whenever something like that happens, your heart's in your mouth and, as I said in the press conference, it doesn't matter whether it's your fighter or it's someone else's fighter. Whether it's someone else's promoters. You know what it's like, there's a lot of arguments in boxing but everyone comes together at that time and just prays that he's okay."

Conlan started off the fight strong, getting an early knockdown in the first round and keeping Wood against the ropes. However, in the later rounds, fatigue set in for the Irishman and Wood capitalized, pressing Conlan constantly.

All the pressure bore fruit as he put an end to the fight in the twelfth and final round. An amazing comeback from Leigh Wood to retain his title.

Eddie Hearn reacts to a crossover fight between Canelo Alvarez and Kamaru Usman

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn recently discussed the possibility of a cross-over fight between Canelo Alvarez and Kamaru Usman. In an interview with Pro Boxing Fan, Hearn said:

"I'd love to make that fight. I mean I don't think that it would last very long, but Usman's a great fighter, big name. And I know Canelo Alvarez will fight anyone but obviously he's got his, himself focused right now in 2022, but for the future, we'll see."

Take a look at the interview:

Canelo Alvarez is the hottest ticket in combat sports currently. The Mexican P4P king recently signed a two-fight deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing that will have him take on Dmitry Bivol on 7th May, followed by the highly awaited trilogy between Canelo and Gennadiy Golovkin.

However, in order to secure the 'GGG' fight, both Canelo and Golovkin will have to win their next fights.
