Leigh Wood produced one of the greatest comebacks in boxing history by delivering a twelfth-round knockout against Michael Conlan.

Conlan dominated most of the fight and was able to knock Wood down in the very first round. After that, many people thought this one would be over quick. However, against all odds, Wood rallied back to secure yet another late victory.

Take a look at the knockout:

The fight started out with Wood pressing the action. However, Conlan was dealing with the pressure very well and connected with a lot of good punches in the first few rounds. Conlan kept connecting with left hooks that staggered his opponent. Throughout the fight, it was Wood who seemed to be more aggressive, refusing to give up. However, the 2012 Olympic bronze medalist landed the cleaner shots.

In the second half of the fight, Wood found a switch, showing great heart and determination as he charged at his opponent. As fatigue started to set in for the Irishman, Wood capitalized and kept pressuring his opponent. Wood's best rounds were the final three. In the tenth round, he hurt Conlan, who was struggling to stay on his feet.

In the eleventh round, he knocked Conlan down, and the entire arena came alive. Then, in the final round, Wood pressed Conlan against the ropes and delivered a vicious knockout that saw his opponent fall through the ropes.

Eddie Hearn reveals how this fight will change Leigh Wood's life

In the post-fight press conference, Eddie Hearn described how Leigh Wood's performance would change him for the better:

"Listen, if it's Vegas for Santa Cruz or whatever it is, we'll see. But you know for a long time, Leigh Wood has been scrimping around, for no money in the sport. Boxing for no money, on the road, and the last, you know couple of, the year or so, he started making money. Made a lot of money tonight, and he's gonna make a load of money in the next fight. And he's dedicated his whole life to the sport."

Take a look at the interview:

The Matchroom Boxing promoter has promised Wood that he will earn a lot of money in his next fight. Immediately after the Conlan bout, the first fighter that came to mind for Wood was Leo Santa Cruz. Cruz counted Wood out, saying Conlan would beat him. Now Wood will want to take Santa Cruz on and prove everyone wrong once again.
