What's the story?
Tyson Fury, who is the ex-heavyweight champion of the world and also someone who is about to make a comeback, believes that if a unification fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder takes place in future, then WBC champion Wilder will knock out IBF, WBA and IBO champion Anthony Joshua.
In case you didn't know..
After winning a spectacular fight against the legendary Wladimir Klitschko of Ukraine, Anthony Joshua became the most talked about boxer and is believed to be the best in the heavyweight division right now by a majority of boxing veterans and fans.
Joshua has won all 20 fights he has fought till now and that too, all of them with a knockout. He is the only heavyweight champion right now with a 100% knockout record.
The heart of the matter
Deontay Wilder, on the other hand, has been the WBC champion since 2015 and is someone who has a formidable record of 39 victories in 39 fights with 38 knockouts. Wilder has been asking Joshua for a unification fight, so that the world can know who is the better between the two.
Wilder is set to face Luis Ortiz on March 3, 2018 and Anthony Joshua is in talks with the WBO champion, Joseph Parker's camp for a unification fight some time around in March-April.
What's next?
A unification fight between these two most popular boxers of the heavyweight division is only possible if Wilder gets past 'King Kong' Luis Ortiz, who is an extremely dangerous southpaw fighter and Joshua manages to defeat Joseph Parker, who will again be tricky.
Tyson Fury is among the very few who gave Wilder an edge over Joshua but since Tyson Fury has a sharp boxing brain so his prediction cannot be taken lightly.
Author's take
If both Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder manage to defeat their next opponents, then a fight between them will be the hottest event in the heavyweight professional boxing. Tyson Fury is probably right that Wilder will inflict knockout on Joshua as Wilder has no stamina issues, which Joshua at present definitely has.
If a unification fight between these two boxers happen, then Joshua will have to inflict knockout on Wilder in early rounds, otherwise Joshua will be delivered his first defeat by Deontay Wilder.
