#2 David Arquette

Who is he? A Hollywood actor best known for his work on the Scream series, he also was briefly involved in pro wrestling in WCW's fading days. He has recently made a return to the ring.
Why is he an influencer? While David Arquette was only, hitherto now, tangentially connected to the wrestling industry, he is still a recognizable actor with many fans.
David Arquette has often been regarded as the WORST NWA/WCW heavyweight champion of all time. Yes, worse even than Wildfire Tommy Rich (who didn't even pin anyone to win his one and only title) and Ron Garvin, whose lack of charisma and plodding ring style made NWA officials strip the belt off of him faster than ice melts in an oven.
Arquette was only given the title because of his starring role in the Ready to Rumble film, a feature movie that had lots of WCW stars, though only DDP had a major role. He won the title in a fluke victory on Monday Nitro, but lost it quickly enough.
David Arquette returned to his movie star life, and forgot about wrestling...or did he? Lately, Arquette has been trying to prove he was, in fact, worthy of being WCW champion by returning to the ring. He has impressed audiences and critics alike with his hard work ethic and the serious approach he has to his wrestling. For good or ill, Arquette is clearly going to be involved in the sport for the immediate future, and that means he will have influence just because of his fame (or infamy, as the case may be.)
