As much as we love AJ Styles, his loss to Brock Lesnar probably harmed his stock. Rumour has it that AJ won the title just to keep Jinder Mahal from looking weak against Lesnar.
Initially, it seemed like the plan was for Jinder Mahal to win the WWE title back in time for the India tour, but now that Jinder isn't competing for the title until 8 days after the Live event, it seems like AJ will be champion for a while.
