Double or Nothing is the upcoming first ever show for the brand new All Elite Wrestling promotion, and we've already got 4 matches officially announced, with a fifth being teased on the latest YouTube video, 'Road to Double or Nothing'.

Cody, the fourth and final VP teased the match to his wife Brandi, and with so many performers on the roster, and plenty more Free Agents around the world, his potential opponent for the show is a fun discussion to have.

From hardcore fanatics to future top stars in the business, it's hard to guess who The American Nightmare will go up against, but we've compiled a list of 5 potential, very interesting matches for him.

So what do you guys think? Would you enjoy seeing Cody battle any of these 5 men? What unsigned performer would you enjoy seeing him face at the big show? What potential do you think AEW has? As always, let us know all your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.

#5 Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose)

Jon Moxley, now known as Dean Ambrose, is a world-class performer, even if WWE didn't let him prove it, and when his contract is up in April, it's been rumoured that he will be the big WWE star to jump to AEW. A no-compete clause may stop this one from happening, but if AEW can reel in this big fish, it would be a great way to kick-start their new venture.

Part of the reason he didn't go to the next level in the WWE was they limited his character and promo work, which is what got him hired from places like CZW in the first place, and AEW would give him that freedom.

This one is the most unlikely, but given that Double or Nothing is their first show as a promotion, bringing in a big name like this would be huge.

#4 Sammy Guevara

Sammy Guevara isn't a worldwide name just yet, and that's exactly what AEW are looking for in some of their performers, because he has the ability to become a household name in the wrestling business. He isn't the biggest and he's not the most impressive high-flier in the world, but Sammy combines his in-ring work with a great character, and he's going to be a big time star for All Elite Wrestling.

His first promo at the Las Vegas pool party was him declaring that he's the best wrestler in the world, and with many top tier talents on the roster, there will be plenty waiting to prove him wrong.

Cody may not be the world's best in-ring worker, but as executive VP of All Elite Wrestling, he's got a brand to protect, and if Sammy comes in saying he's better than everyone else, then Cody has to prove him wrong, and that could make for a great match and a great story.

#3 Jimmy Havoc

Jimmy Havoc is one of the newest signees to AEW, and despite the fact that he won't be exclusive to AEW, he's still going to play a big part in the early days of this new company. Havoc combines technical skills and storytelling with some of the best hardcore wrestling in the world today, and even if that isn't Cody's style, it would make for a great clash between two amazing performers.

The former Progress Wrestling Champion has made his name as an ultra-violent performer, but a stage and a roster like AEW will give him the chance to prove how diverse he is, and a match with Cody on this stage will be that chance.

With Jon Moxley rumoured to join AEW before Double or Nothing, that would also present as an interesting bout for Jimmy Havoc, but right now, he's a very strong candidate to be facing Cody at the big show.

#2 Marty Scurll

When AEW was announced, many people were saddened that Marty Scurll stayed behind in Ring of Honor, and despite finding new friends in PCO and Brody King, he may reunite with his old friends soon. Nothing has been confirmed, but it's rumoured that Marty's ROH contract is up after the MSG show in April, and if that's the case, then All Elite Wrestling makes perfect sense for The Villain.

As for the story, it makes perfect sense, as Cody replaced him with his new friend MJF with the announcement of AEW, and it looks like Cody has completely moved on from Marty as a friend.

If Marty's contract doesn't expire before May 25th, he clearly can't compete, but it's just a matter of when, not if Marty becomes All Elite, and for the show's sake, we hope that The Villain can compete in Las Vegas.

#1 MJF

Maxwell Jacob Freidman is one of the hottest and most talented young performers in wrestling today, and after the role he's been given on Being The Elite, it's clear AEW have big plans for him. Cody has been praising him highly when given the chance to talk about AEW and it's future, and with the current gimmick of him being taken under Cody's wing, it's a perfect match for this huge event.

It may be too early in the story to pay off, but a weekly Being The Elite will have 10+ episodes before Double Or Nothing, and that's plenty of time to keep this going. It's clear that MJF has the talent in the ring and outside of the ring to be one of this generations best heels, and a singles bout with Cody would only solidify that before AEW begins its weekly programming towards the end of 2019.
