Rob Van Dam made his first appearance on WWE television when he was just sixteen years old. He was selected out of the crowd to kiss the Million Dollar Man's foot in exchange for 100 dollars, which he did.
Years later he had a very uneventful run in World Championship Wrestling where he used the name Robbie V. He would depart the company after being used as an enhancement talent and then joined ECW, where his career really took off.
ECW was the perfect showcase for RVD's signature acrobatics, martial arts striking, and propensity for using weaponry in new and innovative ways. To this day throwing a steel chair at an opponent and then kicking it into their face is called a Van Damminator, and his Van Terminator move is still used by Shane McMahon, although it's called Coast to Coast now.
After WWE purchased ECW, Rob Van Dam would join the company and go on a quite successful run, including reigns as WWE and Intercontinental Champion. Rob Van Dam also has quite the career accomplishment; He's undefeated at WrestleMania, though he did lose on the pre show, which doesn't count.
His victories include an Intercontinental title win over William Regal, a tag team championship win with partner Booker T, a Money in the Bank Ladder match victory, and a bizarre eight man tag team match that seemed thrown together at the last minute, because it was.
