7 WWE superstars who should leave for AEW

After the Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes proved that they could sell out 10,000 seats at All In, fans started speculating that a new promotion would be launched that would take the wrestling world by storm.

Well, that has now come to fruition with the official announcement of All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The company will be owned by Shahid Khan and Tony Khan.

AEW have been busy recruiting talent with lucrative contracts and promising equal pay for both men and women.

As of now, their roster looks promising with wrestlers like Chris Jericho, Cody, The Young Bucks, ‘Hangman’ Page, Christopher Daniels and many more jumping on board.

That being said, a lot of the WWE talent must also be looking for a way to join AEW. WWE has a huge talent pool of wrestlers but there are many of them who are unhappy about their position within the company.

These WWE superstars may soon look to leave WWE and join AEW where they could be given a much better opportunity to shine.

Here, we have listed 10 WWE wrestlers who should leave WWE for AEW.

#7 Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler is just one of those wrestlers fans want to cheer for but his poor booking has definitely let his fans down.

For many years, Ziggler’s in-ring skills have captivated audiences. He has evolved with time and has only gotten better.

However, his efforts have only earned him a couple of main event pushes over the past few years.

‘The Showoff’ hasn’t been involved in many noteworthy storylines and spent the better part of 2018 trying to prove that he isn’t a weak link.

Hence, now would be the perfect time as any to jump ship and join AEW where his talents and skills would be much appreciated.

Look what leaving WWE did for Cody Rhodes. Not too long ago Cody was in a much worse position than Ziggler, but today Cody remains one of the most talked about wrestlers in the indies. The same could happen with Ziggler if he decides to leave WWE for AEW.

It would turn out to be a win-win situation of everyone involved except WWE since they would lose one of their strongest mid-card wrestlers.

#6 Sin Cara

Sin Cara
Sin Cara

Sin Cara was one of the most popular wrestlers in Mexico when he arrived in WWE. There was even a superhero comic based on him.

In fact, WWE used this popularity as the base for his promotion. However, the only push he ever received was in NXT when he won the NXT Tag Team Championship with Kalisto.

After that, it has been a downward spiral for Sin Cara whose character seems to be going nowhere. Sin Cara still manages to get a reaction from the crowd.

Hence, it would make perfect sense for him to leave WWE and join AEW. It would be the kick his career needs after been stuck in WWE’s low cards for quite some time.

#5 Tye Dillinger

How WWE managed to drop the ball with Tye Dillinger is still a mystery. He was capable of drawing a reaction from the WWE Universe just by chanting the number “10.”

Even though he wasn’t really pushed in NXT, fans were still hopeful that he would feature more prominently on WWE’s main roster. However, it seems as though WWE just needed another wrestler to be on the receiving end of a lot of losses.

To be honest, it has now come to the point where it’s really hard for fans to care for his character because he hasn’t done anything since arriving on the main roster. It really isn’t even Dillinger’s fault since he has been on the receiving end of mediocre booking.

Dillinger has won multiple Championships outside of WWE but hasn’t even won a single Championship within the company.

At some point, Dillinger has to throw his hands up in disappointment and say enough is enough. Our best guess is that day is not too far.

Dillinger’s WWE career resembles that of CJ Parker (now known as Juice Robinson). Parker too was at the receiving end of a number of losses before requesting his release from the WWE.

Since then his career has come a long way. Currently, he is the IWGP United States Champion in NJPW.

Tye Dillinger’s career could follow the same path if he decides to leave WWE for AEW.

#4 Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn has to be one of the most underutilized wrestlers in the WWE locker room. He did quite well for himself in NXT and even ended up winning the NXT Championship briefly.

But his main roster role hasn’t gone the way he would’ve liked. You can’t really blame WWE for this.

Their hectic work schedule has resulted in Sami Zayn getting injured very often. This makes him an unreliable choice for a push. If you look at all the wrestlers WWE have pushed over the years, they all have one thing in common and that is they rarely get injured.

But from a fan’s point of view, it’s very sad to see someone like Sami Zayn’s talent getting wasted in WWE.

Therefore, Zayn should just join AEW. Their work schedule will probably be a lot less hectic and it won’t take long for him to get a push he deserves. This would be the best move for the former NXT Champion that could reignite his career.

#3 The Good Brothers

When Gallows and Anderson first arrived in WWE, they were immediately paired up with AJ Styles for a while which was great to see. Fans were excited as they expected to see a bullet club like faction in WWE involving Styles, Balor, Gallows, and Anderson.

However, the brand split indicated otherwise as Styles was sent to Smackdown Live while The Good Brothers remained on RAW.

They ended winning the RAW Tag Team Championship. But things went south for The Good Brothers after they lost their Tag Team titles. They have had significantly less TV time in the past few months and were barely involved in any prominent storylines.

The Good Brothers have to be fed up with their booking and should definitely consider moving to AEW if the opportunity presents itself.

AEW could pair them up with their former Bullet Club members Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks or they could be booked in a rivalry against The Young Bucks. Either way, AEW would strike gold if they sign The Good Brothers.

#2 The Revival

The Revival
The Revival

The Revival were one of the best tag teams in NXT and even won the NXT Tag Team Championship twice.

Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson were able to get over with the fans and built a solid reputation in NXT.

However, it didn’t take WWE time to ruin that reputation once they made their main roster debut. Poor booking has resulted in The Revival losing to other tag teams.

This just shows that not a lot of effort and thought goes into WWE’s tag team booking. But to be fair, injuries haven’t helped them either as both members have got injured a couple of times now and we all know that WWE isn’t too keen on pushing injury prone wrestlers.

The Revival have shown clear disappointment in their booking and have even requested their release from the company. WWE hasn’t granted their release so it could mean that they have big things planned for them or WWE just don’t want to lose them to AEW.

#1 Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura

After having a splendid run as NXT Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura was finally called up to the main roster.

Everything looked good for the ‘King of Strong Style’ and fans were jubilant as he won the Men’s Royal Rumble Match. However, he failed to win the belt from AJ Styles and turned heel.

Ever since then Nakamura has been stuck in the mid cards and his highest point of the year came when he won the United States Championship. Nakamura is a larger than life gimmick who possess the ability to draw in huge crowds.

Instead, WWE have relegated his United States Championship match to the pre-show at the Royal Rumble PPV.

Maybe his mic skills are what’s holding him back from breaking out in WWE. He is unable to cut promos with fluency due to his poor English skills.

But why did WWE bring him all the way from NJPW to the WWE when they knew he couldn’t speak proper English. It just doesn’t make sense.

Considering how big of a star he is in the indies, Nakamura must be wishing he could just leave the WWE and go wrestle for AEW.

AEW will probably focus more on the wrestling rather than the promos and segments, and we all know just how good a wrestler Nakamura is.
