Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and co. have certainly put together a very impressive card for their first ever, inaugural All In event which featured some of the best wrestlers on the planet representing companies such as New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, and even CMLL as well.
The All In card featured a total of 11 matches, pre-show included and had three major main events of the evening, featuring Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, The Young Bucks and more.
Elsewhere on the card, Cody Rhodes also challenged for the NWA World Title, whereas, the ROH World Title was also defended.
#1. The Briscoe Brothers vs Socal Uncensored (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpion Sky)- Zero Hour Pre-Show
We kick things off with the first match of the evening and its a tag bout between two of Ring of Honor's top teams, as current ROH Tag Team Champions Jay and Mark Briscoe went head-to-head in a non-title bout against SCU.
The duo of Kazarian and Sky were super over with the crowd right from the get-go and The Briscoes also managed to attract a solid amount of heel heat, as we kicked things off with Kazarian and Jay battling in the ring.
SCU initially started off the match in a tremendously fast pace, but The Briscoes managed to drag themselves back into the contest and countered most of SCU's moves. Just as when it seemed like The Briscoes were on the verge of sealing a huge win via The Doomsday Device, Kazarian caught Mark in mid-air and allowed Sky to hit Jay with a running, only for the former to pin Mark Briscoe for the win.
Result: SCU defeated The Briscoes
#2. Over Budget Battle Royal
Several top superstars from Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, and all over the Independent circuit competed in this Battle Royal, as WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray started off things by putting Chico El Luchador through a table. The likes of Brian Cage, Moose, WWE legends Tommy Dreamer, Billy Gunn, and Hurricane Helms as well.
Throughout the match, almost every single competitor had their moments, most notably the likes of Best Friends, Cheeseburger, Jordynne Grace, and even Jimmy Jacobs.
In the closing stages of the contest, Bully Ray eliminated Colt Cabana in what seemed like the final elimination of the match, only for Chico El Luchador to make his way back into the match and eliminate Bully. Chico then took off his mask and revealed himself to be none other than Flip Gordon, who finally made his way to All In and also challenged for the ROH World Title.
Result: Flip Gordon eliminated Bully Ray last to win the Battle Royal
#3. Maxwell Jacob Friedman vs Matt Cross- (All In Main Card)
This match started off with MJF dominating throughout the opening stages and working on the entire body of the veteran Matt Cross. As expected, MJF applied all of his various heel tactics through the match and used the referee as a protective shield in order to take advantage.
However, Matt Cross eventually made his way back into the match thanks to two costly mistakes from MJF after he failed to keep down the former for a three count after hitting the pendulum piledriver and then missing a moonsault as well. Cross then hit the Rebound Cutter and hit a Shooting Star Press for the win.
Result: Matt Cross defeated MJF
#4. Stephen Amell vs Christopher Daniels
Coming into this match, Arrow superstar Stephen Amell had previously never competed in a singles match, thus making his one-on-one debut in-front of 10,000 people against former ROH World Champion, Christopher Daniels.
This was a solid back-and-forth contest and Stephen Amell did really good, given the fact that the man isn't a full-time wrestler. At one point, the Arrow star also came pretty close to winning when he hit the Falcon Arrow, only for Daniels to kick out, as the latter eventually connected with the Best Moonsault Ever for the win.
Kinda surprising result, as some fans thought that the veteran Daniels would put over Amell in his first singles Pro Wrestling match. Nevertheless, after the match, both men shook each other's hands and showed mutual respect to each other.
Result: Christopher Daniels defeated Stephen Amell
#5. Tessa Blanchard vs Chelsea Green vs Madison Rayne vs Britt Baker
The first and only women's match of the night, as Women of Honor, stars Tenille Dashwood and Mandy Leon made their way out to provide guest commentary for this four corner's match.
Britt Baker made her way to the ring first and much to everyone's surprise, the certified doctor used her boyfriend Adam Cole's Ring of Honor theme. And within a few short minutes, Tessa Blanchard made her way out to the ring as the new Knockouts Champion was accompanied by her father, the legendary Tully Blanchard.
As expected, this match was fast paced and all four women worked pretty well with each other and also received "This is awesome" chants from the Chicago crowd as well. Madison Rayne, who also recently competed at the Mae Young Classic, came very close to winning the match when she hit the Ripcord Cutter only for Blanchard to break up the win.
A few moments later, it was Chelsea Green's turn to give her boyfriend a shoutout as she hit the Broski Boot on Tessa Blanchard. In the closing stages of the match, Tessa first hit the Magum, only for Baker to kick out at two as Madison Rayne hit the Crucifix Bomb, this time allowing Brit Baker to break up the pin.
Chelsea Green then went on a tear as she hit the Unprettier on Baker, followed up by a Canadian Destroyer on Blanchard, but much to her despise both ladies kicked out of the respective moves. Tessa Blanchard finally hit the Hammerlock DDT for the massive and historic win.
Result: Tessa Blanchard defeated Chelsea Green, Madison Rayne, and Britt Baker
#6. Cody Rhodes vs Nick Aldis- NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship
The first title match of the evening, as 'The American Nightmare' Cody Rhodes finally had the chance of creating history by capturing the coveted NWA World Title for the very first time in his career.
Cody came out to the ring with his Nightmare Team that included the likes of WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page, Tommy Dream, and even Cody's dog Pharoah. On the other hand, Nick Aldis came to the ring accompanied by the likes of Tim Storm and Jeff Jarrett as well.
Cody and Aldis wrestled each other to a very physical encounter, with the latter dominating the match in the early stages, as Cody got busted wide open and had his face covered in blood. DDP then made his way out to the ring to check on Cody, but eventually ended up hitting a Diamond Cutter on Shawn Daivari.
Aldis continued to punish Cody, as Brandi Rhodes then made her way to the ring and covered herself over a bloodied Cody Rhodes, only for Nick Aldis to hit a Flying Elbow Drop on Brandi. Cody, however, then manages to come back into the match by hitting a Disaster Kick followed up by the Cross Rhodes, only for Aldis to kick-out at two.
Aldis subsequently attempted a Sunset Flip, only for Cody to sit out into a pin as 'The American Nightmare' got the three count and captured the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
Result: Cody defeated Nick Aldis to win the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship
#7. Hangman Page vs Joey Janela- Chicago Street Fight
This match was exactly what the fans expected, a brutal, gruesome, and hardcore street fight between two of the most talented stars in the world today. Both Page and Janela absolutely took the fight to each other with the former hitting the first big blow of the match when he connected with a Burning Hammer on top of a ladder to create some separation between the two men.
However, this eventually allowed Penelope Ford to pull a bag under the ring as Page tried to clothesline 'The Bad Girl', only for Ford to do multiple backflips as she subsequently hit a stunner on Page (which he sold brilliantly). Ford then put Page on top of a table and allowed Janela to hit an elbow drop through the table.
Shortly afterward, back in the ring, Page hit the Rite of Passage, only for Ford to pull out the Hangman's boots from another bag. A frustrated Adam Page then superkicked Ford, before running into a superkick of his own from 'The Bad Boy'.
Page then pulled out the phone he used Joey Ryan to "murder" with and hit Janela with it over and over again, before hitting the final Rite of Passage this time from the top of a ladder and through a table as Hangman picked up a huge win.
Following the conclusion of the match, Joey Ryan seemingly made his return from the dead and superkicked Hangman Page.
Result: Hangman Page defeated Joey Janela
#7. Jay Lethal vs Flip Gordon- Ring of Honor World Championship
The second title match of the evening, as current ROH World Champion Jay Lethal walked out to Macho Man Randy Savage's theme song and also sported his gear as well. The challenger Flip Gordon, meanwhile, had Brandi Rhodes in his corner, as he looked to shock the entire world by winning the prestigious ROH World Title for the very first time in his career.
Gordon and Lethal rather started off the match in a pretty slow manner and kept it pretty technical, until Flip started doing all his cool and fancy high-flying moves. Gordon seemingly also came close to winning the title on several occasions but eventually spoiled his biggest chance when he hit the Falcon Arrow only for a two count.
In the end, it was the experienced Jay Lethal who retained his title over Flip Gordon following the Lethal Injection. After the match, Bully Ray made his way out and attacked both men, but on this occasion, Colt Cabana came out and made the save, as the three babyfaces powerbombed Bully Ray.
Result: Jay Lethal defeated Flip Gordon to retain the ROH World Title
#9. Kenny Omega vs Penta El Zero
This contest was by far the most hyped match of the entire All In card, as for the first time in their careers Kenny Omega and Penta El Zero squared off in the middle of a wrestling ring. Omega, who is currently in possession of the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, started off the match in a backfoot as Penta caught Omega with his quick kicks and moves.
Omega, however, made his way back into the match as both men started trading chops, but as far as the big moves are concerned, it was all in favor of Penta, who executed his big offensive maneuvers and did not let Omega even execute the V-Trigger in the opening stages of the contest, let along the OWA.
'The Best Bout Machine' executed a Death Valley Driver within the next few minutes of the contest and hits a V-Trigger right at Penta's head and keeps hitting the latter with wicked V-Triggers, before once again failing to execute the One-Winged Angel. The momentum slowly shifted towards Penta's favor as he hit the Pentagon Driver, followed by a wicked Fear Factor on the apron.
A battered Kenny Omega kicked out of both moves, before trying to hit the One-Winged Angel for the third time, only for Penta to trap Omega's arm and eventually snap it, as the crowd went absolutely nuts after Omega kicked out of the Fear Factor that was to be followed up.
Omega finally connected with another V-Trigger before hitting the One-Winged Angel for the three-count and the win.
After the match, Omega, much to everyone's surprise was attacked by his arch-rival Chris Jericho.
Result: Kenny Omega defeated Penta El Zero
#10 Kazuchika Okada vs Marty Scurll
Despite the people claiming that Marty Scurll didn't stand a chance against Kazuchika Okada, it is fair to say that 'The Villain' did pretty well for himself in this Heavyweight vs Jr. Heavyweight affair in the co-main event of the evening.
Both Scurll and Okada started-off the match in a fair back-and-forth manner, with the latter mostly having the upper hand throughout the opening stages of the match. Despite Okada being in control of the match, Scurll surely did have his moments, out of which one of them was when 'The Villain' caught 'The Rainmaker' with a surprise Brainbuster and then went on to counter Okada's Tombstone with one of his own.
Okada eventually looked to finish off the match by calling off for The Rainmaker when Scurll grabbed his fingers and snapped them and locked in the Crossface Chicken Wing before using his umbrella to his advantage.
However, a resilient Okada managed to hit three Rainmakers in a row and picked up the win over The Villain, who showed a tremendous amount of heart and passion throughout the bout.
Result: Kazuchika Okada defeated Marty Scurll
#11. Kota Ibushi and The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) vs Rey Mysterio, Bandido, and Rey Fenix
When six of the world's best high-fliers take it to the ring, fans can expect a typical jaw-dropping match that you're likely to witness in a PWG show. Nevertheless, the main event for the first ever All In show definitely did live up to all of its hype, as all six men laid it all on the ground and it all began with Bandido starting things off with Matt Jackson.
The fast pace and amazing resiliency of all four men is what made this match such as spectacle to witness in the first place, as the fans had the chance of witnessing everything starting from a Superkick Party to a 619 party as well.
Meltzer Driver, Canadian Destroyer, and More Bang For Your Buck, this match had all the ingredients and big moves in it, as The Young Bucks went on to win the main event of the evening by hitting The Meltzer Driver for the win.
Another highly recommended match for all fans who like to enjoy fast-paced wrestling.
Result: The Golden Elite defeated Rey Mysterio, Fenix, and Bandido
