Ravi Kumar won his first Asian Championships gold medal after beating Tajikistan’s Hikmatullo Vohidov in the final of the 57kg category. On his way to the gold medal, Kumar had defeated World Champion Yuki Takahashi in his first match and later had a win over 2-time World Champion Nurislam Sanayev 7-2.
Kumar has peaked at the right time before the Olympics, and now the focus for him will be to carry his consistency into the Tokyo Games and in the process try to be injury free.
