Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kenny Omega squared off in the ring with utmost focus. The two wrestlers had no respect for each other, with Tanahashi slapping Omega, which Omega returned to him. Omega focused his attack on the back of Tanahashi as he hit him with elbows.

Omega continued his attack on the back of Tanahashi, as he hit him with a back suplex. Omega grounded Tanahashi and got out a table. Tanahashi came from behind and hit Omega taking him away from the table. Omega dropped Tanahashi, but he was dropped himself with a dropkick by a quick Tanahashi. Omega dove to the outside, taking out Tanahashi but sacrificing his own body as well.
Omega hit two vicious Snapdragon Suplexes followed by a V-Trigger. Omega hit a Kamikaze but tweaked his knee something that Tanahashi took advantage of. Tanahashi put pressure on Omega's leg with the Cloverleaf. Tanahashi hit Omega with the Styles Clash, and went to the top for the Frog Splash, but Omega got his knees up.
Tanahashi focused his attacks on the legs of Omega with two Dragon Screws, followed by a Slingblade on the Apron. Tanahashi set Omega up on the table, but then as he tried to dive on Omega went through the table himself as the Champion moved.
Omega hit Tanahashi with multiple Powerbombs in the ring, for near falls. The two exchanged slaps in the middle of the ring. Omega hit Tanahashi with everything he had, but Tanahashi kicked out at the one count. Knees by Omega brought Tanahashi down, but Tanahashi took out Omega's knee.
Omega took Tanahashi up for the One-Winged Angel, but Tanahashi hit the Reversed Hurricanrana. Tanahashi hit two huge High Fly Lows from the top rope, but Omega still kicked out. He went up for another but got hit by a V-Trigger. Omega hit a huge Dragon Suplex from the top rope.
Omega hit the V-Trigger, but Tanahashi reversed the One-Winged Angel with the Slingblade and hit a High Fly Low for the three-count to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
