Steve Corino’s son, Colby

What’s the story?

People do strange things, sometimes, for a myriad of unknown reasons. Such is the case of Colby Corino. As reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet , Colby Corino was arrested yesterday in Florida on charges of petty theft and shoplifting.

In case you didn’t know...

Colby Corino is the son of former ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Steve Corino. Colby has previously worked for Ring of Honor from 2014 to 2016. He was scheduled to head to New Japan Pro Wrestling to work in their, “young boy,” program and train in the New Japan Dojo.

However, Colby was arrested on drug charges the very next month in December 2016. Based on the police report from that incident, police received a call about an unresponsive person. The authorities arrived at the residence and found Corino unresponsive on the floor. The person Corino was with told the police that they had taken opiates.

Colby finally came to and admitted to the police that he had taken opiates. He was then transported to a local hospital before being jailed, due to what police found when they searched Corino’s home.

The police found a grinder, a bag of marijuana, hypodermic needles, a rock-like substance that was believed to be heroin, a white residue with a cut drinking straw that was laid alongside Corino’s driver’s license, as well as other miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.

Corino and the other person were charged with a resale charge due to the amount of paraphernalia that was discovered. Due to this arrest, Corino lost his spot to train at the New Japan dojo.

The heart of the matter

Based on the report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, Colby Corino was taken into custody in Florida yesterday afternoon. Officials from the Alachua County Jail stated that Colby Corino was jailed after he was busted for petty theft and shoplifting. Officials from the county jail did not make any other details available at the time.

Basically, the charge of petty theft in the state of Florida means that whatever he was accused of shoplifting was worth less than $300. After Colby’s previous arrest in December for drug charges, he vowed to get his life back on track.

In a strange coincidence, Corino was booked to wrestle Rude Boy Riley last night, who was also arrested yesterday based on allegations of being in possession of child pornography.

What’s next?

It is currently unknown what is next for Colby Corino. We’ll have further updates on this situation as they become available.

Author’s Take

Colby is heading down the wrong path if he wants to be successful in professional wrestling. Hopefully, he can get the help he needs to truly get his life back on track.
