The relevance of fitness has increased multifold in the modern day scenario and organizing mass events that promote it have also seen a proportional rise. One such event, set to take place in India on November 20th, is the 2016 Airtel Delhi Half Marathon (ADHM) and it is creating a tremendous amount of buzz across the country.
German sports apparel giants PUMA, the Ignited Partner for the run, is providing all necessities to participants before the event. As a part of its global Ignite Your City campaign, PUMA launched #IGNITEDELHI campaign in New Delhi and is contributing highly towards a successful turn out of the ADHM.
An exhibition, which was organized in New Delhi, featured fitness-related brands from all around the world. This activity was aimed at making people aware about the benefits and positive effects of running on their daily lives. PUMA also provided free ADHM T-shirts to all participants who have registered for the marathon. A virtual running setup is the main attraction of the expo where virtual running tracks were set up for people to experience the thrill of a real scenario.
Running all across the world from Delhi
The running setup comprised treadmills connected with screens at the front, where runners could see various famous tracks from around the world and experience running there without actually having to be at these locations such as Death Valley (United States of America), Tuscany (Italy) and Banff (Canada). Furthermore, the 3 fastest runners of the day were awarded with Puma discount vouchers.
PUMA also brought out its latest Ignite collection, designed especially for running and track events. A variety of apparel including sweat jackets, track pants and running shoes were available at the counter. The collection was specifically aimed at displaying lightweight and sweat-absorbing technology, which ensures maximum comfort to runners. An awareness campaign was also conducted to educate people about the essentials related to a marathon.
PUMA, on their part, has continued to deliver on its promise to promote the sport of running in India. This time, the German sportswear giant pulled out its big guns by bringing former 100m world record holder Asafa Powell to the subcontinent. The Jamaican, nicknamed the Sub-10 King for breaking the 10-second barrier a record 98 times, is making his maiden visit to India as the face of ADHM, thanks to PUMA.
And that is not it! PUMA’s unique Ignite Your City initiative, where it organizes a unique run to ignite the city ahead of a major race with the prime idea of making running fun, helped ignite Delhi ahead of the big day. Having already ignited Bangalore, PUMA organized a relay with Asafa Powell, PT Usha, Milkha Singh, and Ashwini Nachappa leading the teams. Team Asafa ended up as the winners, but there were smiles all around.
Delhi is now ignited and ready for the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon.
