Hyderabad - The third edition of Airtel Hyderabad Marathon will be held on Aug 25 and is expected to see participation of more than 6,000 people.
Bharti Airtel today announced the kick-off of the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon 2013 in association with Hyderabad Runners.
Ramesh Menon, Hub CEO – AP and MP&CG, Bharti Airtel told reporters that the marathon would start at 5 a.m. at Hussainsagar Lake and pass through different parts of the city before concluding at G.M.C. Balayogi Stadium at Gachibowli.
The marathon will feature full (42.195K) and half (21.095K) marathon races, as well as a Marathon Relay (4×10.5K) specifically designed for corporate entities and aspiring marathon runners.
“Airtel Hyderabad Marathon has emerged to become one of the city’s most prestigious sporting events. Over the years, we have seen Airtel Hyderabad Marathon attract thousands of participants from all walks of life — as they come together to celebrate the amazing spirit of running, friendship and camaraderie that exists among the people of this city,” he said
Kali Kondury spokesperson, Hyderabad Runners, said this year’s marathon was designed to be bigger, and certainly better, conforming to international marathon standards.
Aimed at training amateur runners and honing the skills of professionals, sports experts at Hyderabad Runners will be conducting free specialised training sessions for the full, half and relay events.
