ASICS India Private Limited has announced that their sponsorship of the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon (SCMM) has been extended by three years, running until 2019. ASICS’ partnership with the promoters of the event, Procam International, began in 2009 as the ‘Sports Goods Partner’.
In the 13 years of its existence, the event has grown from strength to strength, and now witnesses over 40,000 runners from across the country come together on one common platform. SCMM starts opposite the historic Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai.
It passes many iconic locations such as Flora Fountain, Marine Drive, Chowpatty, Haji Ali, Mahim Church, and the Bandra–Worli Sea Link. The London marathon winner and the secretary of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), Hugh Jones, is the race director.
ASICS was a partner to the event in 2016, supporting runners throughout the full and half marathon-journey; from the moment they sign up, throughout their training program, right up until they complete the race. The first 1000 finishers in 2 categories i.e. Full Marathon & Half Marathon also won an ASICS’ finisher T-Shirt.
Speaking about the association, Rajat Khurana Director, ASICS India said, “We have shared a strong relationship with Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon for the last 7 years as their “Sports Goods partner”. We are delighted to extend this collaboration for another three years.
