ISSF World Cup Final 2024: Sonam Maskar wins silver; other Indian shooters falter
Sonam Maskar won the silver medal for India in the women's 10m air rifle event. She finished the qualification round with 632.1 and secured second place in the final with 252.9. The Indian shooter finished behind China's Huang Yuting, who set a world record of 254.4.
French shooter Oceanne Muller scored 231.1 in the final to win the bronze medal. India's Tilottama Sen finished sixth in the women's 10m air rifle event with 167.7 points in the final.
In the men's event, Arjun Babuta and Divyansh Singh Panwar scored 188.3 and 124.0 points to finish sixth and eighth, respectively. Arjun scored 631.6 in the qualification round, while Divyansh got 631.2.
China's Sheng LIhao (251.4), Hunagry's Istvan Peni (251.3), and Czech Republic's Jiri Privratsky (229.8) were the medalists in the men's 10m air rifle final.
Indian pistol shooters Arjun Singh Cheema and Varun Tomar had a poor outing, finishing eighth and 10th, respectively, in the men's 10m air pistol final. Chinese shooter Xie Yu won the gold medal with 244.6.
Germany's Robin Walter and Italy's Federico Maldini took home the silver and bronze medals with 243.3 and 221.7, respectively.
France's Camille Jedrzejewski (240.8), Heng Yu Liu of Chinese Taipei (237.4), and Egypt's Hala Elgohari (215.7) were the top three shooters in the women's 10m air pistol final.
Rhythm Sangwan and Surbhi Rao from India were the next two best shooters with scores of 197.2 and 176.6. They finished the qualification round with 579 and 574, respectively.
