10m Air Pistol Women - an Olympic event
World No.1 and Olympic Champion confirmed her position by winning the Gold in the 10m Air Pistol event for Women. Korakaki did not have the best of starts being in the 5th position after the completion of 10 shots. After 20 shots though she moved into the Gold medal position which she retained till the end. World No. 2 Arunovic settled for Silver. World No. 9 Manu Bhaker from India finished in the 13th spot.

25m Pistol Women - an Olympic event
2004 Olympic Champion Kostevych won an epic final which involved three shoot-off rounds against Batsarashkina of Russia to clinch the Gold. Batsarashkina who was 3 points ahead of the Ukranian after seven series, missed 3 in the eighth and one more in the ninth to be on level terms with Kostevych. In the third shoot-off series Kostevych experienced a temporary malfunction with her weapon. She came back to clinch the Gold by hitting her last 3 shots. India's teenage sensation Manu Bhaker finished in tenth place, while Asian Games Gold medalist Rahi Sarnobat finished thirty-first and Heena Sidhu ended up in 43rd place.

China took the combined Team Gold with a higher percentage of 69 hits in the 10th ring compared to Korea's 64. Indian team took the 6th position in the team event.
