Manavaditya Rathore, the son of Olympic silver medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, has won the Junior National Trap Shooting title (under 21) at the National Championships. At just 14 years of age, Manavaditya, who is often called ‘Manav’, has already put together an impressive list of accomplishments in the field mastered by his father.
Rathore tweeted:
Earlier this year, at the third Asian Shotgun Championship in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Manavaditya had also clinched a bronze in a event where Indian shooters produced some very promising performances, winning seven medals (including two golds).
The Olympic champ had this to say at that time: “I am impressed and proud that Manav at this very young age is taking on the big guns, he understands that age cannot be a barrier for talent. I can sense the great potential in him. I am equally proud of all juniors and my congrats to the seniors for their able leadership.”
Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is an Indian shooter and politician who had won the silver medal in the men’s double trap event at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
