Lindsey Vonn extended her support to Caitlin Clark after a hard foul
Lindsey Vonn extended her support to Caitlin Clark after she was pushed several times during the match between Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky. The incident had become a topic of discussion among fans and they took to social media to express their opinion.
A video of Clark being shoved by Sun's guard, Chennedy Carter had gone viral on social media. In the video, Carter is seen calling Clark a slur after which she pushes her to the ground as Clark is in the process of receiving the ball.
This brought about a huge discussion among fans and several celebrities who took to social media to condemn the action. Vonn took to X and raised her voice against the development and expressed that the attack was unnecessary.
"I think it’s an intentional attack that is unnecessary. She is being targeted, when in fact, she is massively helping to elevate the game. She doesn’t need special treatment but she definitely shouldn’t be targeted, especially with that language..," she wrote.
Moreover, Vonn expressed that Caitlin Clark is one of the flag bearers of the current rise in women's basketball, so she should not either be targeted by other players nor given preferential treatment. Along with that Vonn being a supporter of women's sports takes every opportunity to promote and increase its popularity among the masses.
She became a part owner of the Utah Royals FC, a team in the NWSL to do her part in being a pioneer for women's sports.
