The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games came to an end after 11 days of tremendous effort by athletes from all over the world, with India finishing the tournament fifth with 15 gold, 30 silver and 19 bronze medals for a total tally of 64. With more than 100 of winners out of 1,950 athletes from 71 different nations and territories competing in 17 different sports, the 2014 CWG was huge, becoming the largest multi-sport event ever held in Scotland.But in case you missed the action from the Games, worry not. The face of 20-year-old swimmer Ross Murdoch says it all after he won the men's 200m breaststroke. Murdoch was clearly shocked by his own achievement, beating tournament favourite and Olympic silver medalist Scot Michael Jamieson.

#5 Not giving up yet
Maybe a bit graphic in comparison to the other photos in the list, but this still from a heavyweight (91 kg) quarterfinal boxing match between Canadian boxer Samir El-Mais and English boxer Warren Baister during the Games in Glasgow was one of the tournament’s highlights.
Even though El-Mais looks wounded in this picture, it was he who emerged victorous at the end.
#6 Shuttler Sindhu

“Ahhh The Queen photo-bombed our selfie!!” wrote Australian hockey Jayde Taylor as she posted a photo of herself and her team-mate Brooke Peris as they were ‘photo-bombed’ by the Queen of England herself who was in the stands with her husband Prince Philip after Australia beat Malaysia 4-0.
The photo created massive uproar in social media with more than 4,700 retweets in less than five hours.
