3 Reasons Why Bayley should be the face of WWE

Bayley besides her fan Izzy who’s become a character herself at NXT.

Okay, okay. Roman Reigns may be your king and he truly deserves to have his time on the throne but this thought may not be so far-fetched. Bayley, in the latter half of the year, has certainly become NXT's most valued performer. The storylines involving her have been the best, most intriguing hook to NXT. And at a time when ambiguity clouds the world of wrestling, Bayley's character is a breath of fresh air not only for the WWE but also for the struggling main roster Divas division. And in this day and age, it shouldn't be so difficult to imagine a woman being the face of a wrestling company. She and her fellow NXT female performers and trainers have been trailblazers in changing the view surrounding the women’s division in the WWE in the past few years. Here are 3 reasons why Bayley can become the face of the company-

#3 Babyface juggernaut

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

There is no one, at present, in the WWE who is as universally adored, in the realm of wrestling, as Bayley. Her expressions, her trials and tribulations, her humility, the friendships, the fans and the like - nobody kindles such a feeling of happiness in their fans as much as Bayley.

She thrives in the underdog babyface role. She’s grown into such a great character in NXT that stepping into the main roster may be a step back. NXT has really given that character a space to grow in. She used to stammer during her promos during her initial days and slowly but steadily, as she moved closer to winning the title, the stammering faded away.

She somebody you can relate to and that’s the perfect role model WWE wants for its young audience.

#2 Old school

Free Hugs to everyone!

Bayley’s entire get up reminds this writer about the golden age of WWE where larger than life, colorful characters such as Macho Man Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior existed. She has herself stated Randy Savage, The Rock, Mick Foley, Bret Hart and Lita, amongst others, as major influences in her career.

Then there’s her entrance with those zany, wavy, colorful tube figures near the titantron. She reminds you of that time when characters were not so ambiguous and were either face or heel. She’s so good with her in-ring psychology and face work that it’s hard not to have empathy towards her and at the same time she’s inspirational to so many others.

#1 Main event talent

Standing Ovation for Bayley

If you’ve seen her journey to the NXT Women’s Championship and the celestial growth she’s had as a character, you there’s main event written all over it. She and Sasha Banks stole the show at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, clearly stating with authority that they should have been the main event. Seeing that, they earned the main event spot for NXT Takeover: Respect in an Iron Woman match.

Since then, Bayley and her title defences have earned main event spots on the regular NXT broadcasts whenever they’ve happened and they’ve felt like main events. Her match with Eva Marie particularly deserves an encore at some point later at a major takeover event.

And then there was the recently concluded London Takeover event and even though her match was no technical classic, it was a story so well told that it deserved to end the night. The chants for her were not only unique but one of the best of the year. The audience SANG for her. No matter how hard it may be to synchronize the lyrics and sing but the London crowd did it for Bayley.
