Smackdown was filmed Tuesday and aired Thursday, as usual.Smackdown has been picking up lately, actually carrying some weight in the storylines instead of simply replaying or rehashing what happened on Raw. This week was no different, as advancements were made in three major stories that can be built upon during next week’s shows and into the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.Here’s a look at those big-ticket items as well as the future implications that are associated with them.
#1 Demon destruction
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Since he returned at the end of Night of Champions, the Demon Kane has been after WWE Champion Seth Rollins. Still, it was unclear whether he was to be considered the heel or the face.
While that question isn't exactly settled, we do know where he stands after Smackdown. He laid waste to superstars on both sides of the aisle, from Rollins and New Day to the Dudley Boyz. Kane isn't a heel or a face when he changes out of his suit. He's a demon bent on destroying everything in his path
#2 KO bails out
Ryback got his rematch with Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental title, and “The Big Guy” won but on a count-out. Thus the belt didn't change hands.
Simply put, Owens seemed disinterested in getting beat down by Ryback, so he took the countout. This is something he's done before, and it really works for his character. Not only that, but it will make the challenge to beat him an even greater one. Owens is already a highly talented worker, so if a challenger also has to find a way to keep him from leaving, the belt will be hard to pry off his waist.
#3 New cellmates
The feud between Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns got turned up a notch on Smackdown when the two set up a Hell in a Cell match for the pay-per-view later this month.
After the brutal brawl these two put on at the end of Raw on Monday, it's hard not to be excited about this addition to the HIAC card. Whether this is the final battle for the feud or just the next step, there's little doubt that Wyatt and Reigns will give everyone their money’s worth after busting a table, blasting through a barricade and tossing a bystander on Monday
