It has been three years. Has it really been?Remember the main event of Survivor Series 2012? Three men - CM Punk, John Cena and Ryback were fighting inside the ring and all of a sudden, three others appeared out of nowhere. These guys in black attacked Ryback and Cena and created a lot of chaos. While the WWE universe was trying to understand what actually was happening there, the match ended with CM Punk still holding on to the WWE title.Fast forward to Survivor Series 2015, these three have become a dominant force in the company. As part of this slideshow, let us have a look at 5 best things that happened to this trio either as a team or individually -
#5 Longest reigning US Champion
These three were rewarded by the WWE almost equally. It all started with Dean Ambrose winning the US title. He held it for a record 351 days which is the longest US title reign ever in WWE.
It was a phenomenal feat given the fact that many WWE legends have held the title on multiple occasions. Ambrose was a very effective heel back then and always ran his mouth at others. You don't get to see such a huge investment of trust unless you expect a proportionate return, isn't it?
Ambrose has a lot of following today and that is what will help the company in the long run. This guy is sure to get a lot more in the coming days. Any doubts about this? Keep calm and believe that, as it is sure to happen!
#4 Layeth the SmackDown on \'The Great One\' and Undertaker
Do you have any idea on the number of superstars that got triple power-bombed by 'The Shield'? I won't trouble you much with the figures. Almost half of the roster back then tasted the power-bomb and the list of victims includes Cena, Orton, Ryback, The Rock and The Undertaker.
The first three are okay but how about the last two?You call your legends and ask them to get power-bombed by three newcomers who are just a year old in the company? What is that! It's just the importance these guys have from an impact stand-point.
They are obviously the best the company could offer back then and they got their opportunities. Any ideas on what you can call this achievement?
Phenomenal! Awesome! Nah! I need a new word.
#3 World Heavyweight Champion
Last year, Seth Rollins turned his back on his brothers and aligned with 'The Authority'. It was this move that changed his career graph totally. The same year, he went on to win the 'Money in the Bank' contract and later at WrestleMania 31 cashed it in and won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
He has been the Champion for the past 215+ days and this is a great accomplishment given that Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar and Sting are all on the roster.
WWE believes a lot in this man and they would love to invest in this guy. He obviously has the talent to attract crowds to the arena and hopefully we will get to see more of Seth Rollins.
#2 The Shield\' overpowers \'Evolution\'
It was in 2014 that the WWE Universe got the chance to witness some epic six man tag team action. 'The Shield' and 'The Evolution' locked horns twice on PPVs - once at Payback and once at Extreme Rules. Randy Orton, Batista and Triple H collectively couldn't even come close to beating the trio.
You know the strategic importance of these two teams and guess what, the better team won and you have to appreciate that.
#1 So much in so little time - Roman Reigns
The ‘Big Dog’ obviously has got huge success in the past three years. He may not have won championships but he has gone on to accomplish things that fascinate you as a wrestler.
He took part in two Royal Rumble matches, out of which he won one and stood #2 in the other. He was the sole survivor in the Survivor Series match in 2013, eliminating 4 superstars. He also won the ‘2014 Superstar of the Year’ award at the Slammy awards, last year.
Many more one-on-one matches he has been a part of, were show-stealers and guess what, he was the only one who came close to beating Brock Lesnar in recent times, at WrestleMania 31.
