Do you call yourself a super cricket fan? Do you know the batting and bowling averages of your favourite players like the back of your hand? Do you wake up early or stay up late to see your team play? If you do, then let’s see how many of these stats you have observed by watching cricket matches in 2015.Even if you have followed your team and cricket in general, in 2015, some of these statistics will certainly surprise you. So here are four less observed stats of cricket in 2015 that may astonish you.
#1 Yasir Shah: Most no.of wickets by any bowler after 12 tests in last 100 years
Pakistan cricket’s new diamond named Yasir Shah has taken 76 wickets in 12 Test matches since he has come into the international cricket and it is a record. He has now picked up most no.of wickets by any bowler after 12 tests in last 100 years which shows his consistency. In fact, he is the only spin bowler who has taken 76 wickets after 12 test matches that shows his true potential as a leg spinner.
In the history of the game, only one bowler has taken more wickets after 12 matches than Yasir Shah. Australian seamer Charlie Turner, who played the last of his games in 1895, took 80 wickets after 12 Tests. And the only other bowler to equal the leggie’s record is England’s Tom Richardson.
#2 Australia\'s consistency at The Gabba
Recently, Australia won a Test match against New Zealand in Brisbane Cricket Ground and by winning that test match, they extended their streak of not losing a Test there since 1988. They have played 27 tests since then and have either won or drawn every game since, which not only showcases their consistency as a side but also shows how hard to beat they are, at The Gabba.
Here is Australia’s performance in terms of win or draw at Gabba since 1988. (Most recent first)
