#1 Referees are also subjected to wellness policies
If you thought that the wellness polices are only applicable to the WWE superstars, then think again. Referees are also subjected to such policies and the ones who violate this are bound to get punished just like the wrestlers. These Referees undergo a regular testing process and they will be allowed in the ring only if they clear the tests.
The idea is to keep the on-screen performers healthy and drug-free as the company does not want someone to act weird on live television and ruin their image. Mike Chioda was one of the most notable names that received punishment for violating the wellness policies. He was suspended for 30 days and is currently the only referee to be suspended for violating the policy.
