Sweet TSo much has been said about a performers build in the WWE that by now you, as a fan, have a basic knowledge that how big your body is matters a lot when you think about professional wrestling. But not every tall guy is your average great superstar. There are many performers who are huge in stature but don’t get over as that big guy who whoops everybody. Well, when that doesn’t work (as heel or babyface) WWE turns them into comic characters. And that ain’t really a funny picture. It’s ridiculous at bestHere are the 5 Imposing looking men turned into buffoons by WWE
#1 Tensai
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
He was introduced as ‘Lord Tensai’ in all his video packages and he was consistently squashing superstars. Even John Cena lost to him. That ought to mean he was destined for big things. But the gimmick never got over. Soon the Lord from ‘Lord Tensai’ was removed and then all of his character traits were slowly stripped away. As he turned babyface teaming up with Brodus Clay. Soon, he’d have dance-offs and made to wear ridiculous outfits. And then Tensai became ‘Sweet T’
He was reduced to a comedy act. The change is something that is poles apart from what he was set out to do.
#2 Snitsky
Well, he was catapulted to the main roster after causing Lita to have a miscarriage. Thus began his new catchphrase “It’s not my fault”. He went on to have a feud with Kane and later aided Edge and Lita to take out Kane. He was made to breathe heavily and talk in pauses and later on we even get to know he has a foot fetish. His promo delivery was quite expressionless with an indifferent tonality.
Snitsky was that character before he was shifted to ECW and became a madman there.
#3 Brodus Clay
For weeks Brodus Clay was built as this monster by all the video packages that came by the audience’s way. But when he actually debuted, it was poles apart from what anyone could interpret from those video packages. He came out grooving to a retro song which needed disco lights. It was a funk dancing gimmick. And it was fun for a while until it got repetitive. They even made him dance for Wrestlemania 28 with his ‘momma’.
Tons of funk was okay at first but it got pretty repetitive later and it was destined to be a lower card act.
#4 Vladimir Kozlov
Being billed at 6 feet 6 and 302 pounds, Vladimir Kozlov was your quintessential big guy. He was also Russian which automatically meant a foreign heel angle. He was given the traits of a typical Russian militant. He was drafted to Raw after ECW was gone.
Soon, one day Santino Marella asked Kozlov to team up with him. And you know what, when that happens you just know you’re not getting promoted up the card. Soon, they became a tag team and began an undefeated streak but let’s end by saying this- Vladimir Kozlov’s last few days saw him mentoring Conor O’ Brian on NXT and togther they won a dance off against JTG and his rookie.
Kozlov retired from wrestling in 2012 and went on to become the stuntman for The Rock in Fast and Furious 6. He currently is the vice president of Quasar Entertainment – a production company – and is incredibly ripped.
#5 Kane
Kane may be the most different entrant on this list. For one, his character of the Big Red Monster is one of the more over acts in the wrestling industry. But WWE went too long with it. They even made him and Daniel Bryan a babyface tag team and even if they had a lot of comic moments, all of that was actually funny.
But what turned everything topsy- turvy was Kane being made the Director of Operations. It’s not only one of the most boring characters, it also made Kane a stooge for The Authority, always being there to interfere in a really good match. That made him attain Big Show’s reputation of being obsolete.
