The International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) got off to a spectacular start with top players entertaining tennis fans in Manila and Singapore during the first week of the tournament. However, few players could not be part of the inaugural season of the IPTL.Here is a list of 5 players who should play in the IPTL next year.
#1 Stanislas Wawrinka
After living in the shadow of the "big 4" (Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray) for a long time, Stanislas Wawrinka finally made a mark for himself after his Australian Open victory and a few other notable results in 2014.
Wawrinka's fan base has increased incredibly over the past few months and they would all love to see him in action in the second edition of the IPTL. His aggressive play and his hard-hitting forehands will suit the format of the league perfectly.
Wawrinka will look to add another Grand Slam in 2015 and try to overtake Federer as Swiss No. 1.
#2 Mike Bryan/Bob Bryan
The most successful duo in doubles Bob and Mike Bryan have been dominating the doubles circuit for over 10 years now and their fan base over the world is massive.
The Bryan brothers have won 16 Grand Slams in their career and over 100 ATP titles.
#3 Kei Nishikori
Kei Nishikori has broken a lot of records this year. He became the first Japanese man to break into the top 10, the first Asian to ever reach a Grand Slam final and also the first Asian to participate in the ATP World Tour Finals.
With the IPTL taking part in different cities of Asia, Nishikori will be a huge value addition to the tournament.
#4 Andy Roddick
The 2003 U.S Open champion can impress the crowds in Asia with his big serves. Every game in the IPTL counts and the American can be an asset to any team.
He would play in the legends category if he takes part in the tournament next year.
#5 Simona Halep
There are quite a few youngsters in this year’s edition of the IPTL. Simona Halep could be a new addition for the next season.
Halep has done incredibly well this season. She reached the finals of the WTA Tour Finals and the French Open. She also handed Serena Williams one of her biggest losses of her career at the round robin stage of the Tour Finals.
